Guitar Hero is popular exclusively because it enables people who are too lazy to learn guitar to feel like they can play it, even if it's on a plastic, remote, extremely undersized guitar remote.

Playing an instrument is a skill you'll keep for life with practice. Guitar Hero is something that won't be around ten years from now.

I'm not going to argue with you about it, but that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. People play video games for entertainment, not because they want to shoot people or play guitar but don't have the guts. It's the same thing with movies, all entertainment. You play it for fun. A real instrument is a hobby that requires hundreds of hours of practice and a natural talent for. You seem insecure about the whole thing. I have Ibanez electric and aucostic guitars and I don't go around trashing people playing a game based off them. Just like you don't see NBA athletes saying "go out and play the game yourself".

Life is short, people don't have the time to dedicate themselves to sharpshooting/music playing/athletics or whatever else a video game has you do. If you have the talent, grats. I don't see what the big deal is.

I have a friend that was dogging my roomate for playing Rockband, but the moment he came over wanted to play it but could only sing because he sucked at the Guitar and drums.
