When he sees Fred out in the open and gets trapped in the rope, was it because the infected things set it up or did Neville do it and forget about it?

I'm a little late to this but I'm pretty sure the others did it as the main guy was waiting for it to turn dark so he could kill him for taking his girlfriend.

I was a bit lost on this part as well but I find your "girlfriend" theory a bit funny.... From the way the "dark seekers" were portrayed, it didn't seem like they were capable of something like that. But what the fuck do I know.

I think it was only because of the main guy who I guess was still more human than the rest of them.

That's where I think Neville was wrong in the movie for saying that they were no longer human like when the main guy is obviously very smart.

just got back from seeing it, it was pretty good. I cried about the german shepard :( it seemed a bit short. and I pretty much believed the mutants set the trap up. Neville obviously was very surprised to see the mannequin out there, and the main mutant was waiting for him there.
