What a horrible story.

A Fire Truck wouldn't normally be your first fear on New Year's Eve.

It's a scary night to be on the roads, you're guaranteed to run into drunk drivers.

Ridiculous.

Did anything horrible happen at 10 and 410 by Crossroads around 1 tonight? I was coming home and it was all backed up, but the accident was clear by the time we drove by.

Don't know about that, but I chased a fire truck to a small grass fire on Braun Road right as 2008 struck.

Joe...Sorry man, I wasn't on that fire truck! I stayed at home instead. :D
:lol

But on a serious note, very sad to hear about this tradgedy. I understand it was a brush/grass truck that struck and killed the woman....very sad. My thoughts and prayers to the family.

If you all don't mind, I would like to post the donation account.

Please say a prayer for her son that was waiting for her to come home... Not a good way to start out 2008...

geez, i know we don't live in utopia, but did they have to point out that she was decapitated. i think dying would've sufficed.

JB-That KSAT story was top notch.

The only issue I have is Gabe Trevino's it was an accident line. Well, we all know that. Someone was negligent. Sorry, but that is the way it is. Why was the fire truck there? why did he take off without looking to see if anything was in his way? He probably wasn't paying attention. Was the radio to loud? Was he hard of hearing? How in the hell do you drag someone through the parking lot, on the street and down another 40 yards? Tough questions.... I only hope someone steps up and accepts full responsibility and pays for everything that this family is suffering through right now.

I'm sure that firefighter is a decent human being. I mean, he's in the business of saving lives, not killing people. I'm sure he's grieving and living through hell right now--I mean, it's not like he was some stupid drunk out there. Yes, it will probably turn out to be negligence on his part, but our prayers need to be with him as well as the victim. And yes, we the taxpayers will definitely be paying this woman's family, as we should. It's a terrible, unspeakable tragedy. I just think blaming the firefighter is not the way to go, unless he fails the drug/alcohol screen.

I understand that it's difficult not to want to blame someone when you're grieving.
