really stupid play by lamar odom. the lakers are trying to grow as a team, and something like this could serioulsy stunt it's growth if they happen to drop a few in a row. that could easily send a young and inexperienced team like this down a totally different road for the remainder of the season, or at least a good part of it, which the can't afford especially since they are playing in the west.

Odom suspended
Lakers foward punished for flagrant foul vs. Celtics
NEW YORK (AP) -- Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom was suspended for one game without pay Tuesday for committing a flagrant foul in the fourth quarter of his team's 110-91 loss to the Boston Celtics.
Odom threw himself into Ray Allen and knocked the Boston guard to the floor with 2:56 remaining Sunday night and the outcome already decided. Besides the suspension, Odom was assessed a flagrant foul, penalty two, NBA executive vice president Stu Jackson said in a press release.
Odom, who had 14 points and 10 rebounds in the one-sided loss to Boston, will serve his suspension Friday night when the Lakers (19-11) play the Philadelphia 76ers (14-17).
Allen said the foul was "uncalled for."
"I've never had any bad history with Lamar," Allen said Tuesday. "After the play happened, a couple of his teammates came back on the floor and just wanted to make sure I was all right. ... It was just uncalled for."
Celtics coach Doc Rivers thought Odom was angry because he didn't get a foul call on the previous play.
"I just thought he (Odom) lost his composure," Rivers said. "I didn't think it was intended at Ray. Whoever had the ball was getting that. It wasn't anything personal. Odom's a good kid, a good guy."

Huh. I thought it was because of a goaltend call. I guess I was wrong.

It looked like Odom got spooked because Allen jumped and that's why he put his shoulder down.
Not trying to defend that, that play was just dirty. But I don't think he went in with the intent to shoulder charge, and probably thought Allen was going to retreat.
Still nasty. Suspension deserved.

If Bowen steps on someone's foot he's immediatly judge as DIRTY.
But when Odom...."A GOOD KID" spears Allen, it's just a laspe in judgement.
Would someone please provide an explination.

If anyone watched the game on FSN Prime Ticket you can hear Ray Allen say "Get that weak sh!t out of here motha fu**a" when Odom got swatted by KG with like 2 minutes to go in the 4th.
Then Odom tackled him.

Really?
Yup, KG has even made Ray Ray a trash talker. Odom is really not the kind of guy that just goes after players without provocation, he doesn't have a history of doing that in his career. But, when somebody starts talking smack when the game is already over with like 2 minutes to go he'll get pissed like most NBA players would.

I'm almost certain that was KG who said that...
Also that's much to vulgar for a lady like Rayella to say.

I'm not sure Odom has ever jumped up and kicked somebody in the face on purpose.
Do you think that a player could, in the fast furious flow of an NBA game, actually jump high enough with perfect timing in order to intentionally kick a player in the face? I don't deny that he kicked him, but I seriously doubt it was intentional.
BTW, I did lol when it happened. It was like a video game move where you say "No way that could happen in real life!!".
