I saw this movie in New Mexico. I was really looking forward to it, because I liked the director's last offering, "Thank You For Smoking". I was completely thrilled after seeing it, as were everyone that went with me. The humor was completely entertaining and didn't dwindle into a perverted cuss fest like some other comedy offerings of late. Ellen Page was incredible, here Page is Juno, a sarcastic and wise beyond her years 16-year-old dealing with an unplanned pregnancy. Michael Cera (Super Bad) was good, but Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner were perfect in their parts. They play the embattled perspective parents to be of this new chld, while facing their own demons in their struggling marriage. The movie was just very real, and also gives anyone hope that good things can come out of seemingly bad and insurmountable odds.

Go and see this film!

This movie is incredible and the soundtrack is even better. I saw it once on Christmas Day and can't wait to see it again.

Yeah, we went to see it on Christmas day, and it was awesome. What a great movie with a great soundtrack. Michael Cera is putting together pretty great resume.

I absolutely loved this movie. There was one point in the movie where I could not stop laughing because of how Cera looked in short shorts.

When Cera started putting the deodorant on his thighs, was when I was cracking up.

Best acting Jennifer Garner has ever done. I kept switching between feeling sorry for her and thinking she was a weirdo.

I think she did an Oscar worthy job in a supporting role....totally blew me away.

Don't bash him.....he's not the first person to play the same character over and over again in a movie

look at Sean William Scott

I'm only hoping that him, that fat jewish guy, and Fogel will make one more movie together before all of their steam runs out

Surely Fogel will make one more movie appearance
The fat guy will make like 3-4 because like most fat guys he really is funny

Cera has 1-2 more movies left, then will do a movie out of mold, then will disappear

We need a superbad 2 that isn't really superbad 2

George Michael!!

Arrested Development was great because of George Michael and Gob. This movie looks interesting and I think I'll give it a shot.

Man, my wife hated the Jason Bateman character, as I imagine most women will.

Yeah, it kinda bugged me that Juno was a fan of Patty Smyth. Nobody has ever liked her except for three or four influential rock critics.

Angel, if I liked it, you will. We have agreed on every one before now, why should this be any different?

what i liked about the movie was that the guy who gets the girl pregnant isn't villified, like usual...there's even a part where you sympathize with him over Juno (especially anyone who's ever been left high and dry)

The comment that Juno made about Sonic Youth really pissed me off and kind of took me out of the film.

spursfor

you know what took me out of the film?

the opening credits

because they were too long, i don't like that kind of animation, and the song lyrics were fucking annoying

three chords and strings of rhyming couplets? and that was the fucking soundtrack? are you fucking kidding me?
Yeah that soundtrack sucked. I like singer-songwriter type music as much as the next person but the majority of the music sucked.

Wow, nominated for Best Picture...I guess they have to throw in a quirky comedy each year to offset all the depressing violent movies that always dominate the nominations each year. This is this years Little Miss Sunshine, I guess.

I think 3:10 to Yuma got screwed by not being nominated, personally.

Tried way, way, way too hard to be clever and witty.

"I have to pee like Seabiscuit." ?

Talk about contrived.

contrived is a perfect word for much of the dialogue in this move. and the fucking hamburger phone pissed me off!

Talk about contrived. That was my biggest problem, as well.

The soundtrack was annoying, but I didn't hate it. And I liked the performances and the general plot just fine. But the actual script? Just way too pleased with itself.

I didn't mind the music. I did mind that it was playing constantly throughout the entire movie.

Death At A Funeral made me laugh much more than Juno did.

I didn't care for Little Miss Sunshine, either.

Movies like this and Juno generate a buzz and most people will say they liked it just because everybody else said they did, even though it's a rather mediocre movie. Being quirky for the sake of being quirky alone just isn't funny to me.

IMO, Thank You For Smoking was a much better film than both LMS/Juno, but generated much less press and WOM than the they did.

saw LMS in the last couple of days and i thought it was way better and didnt try as hard as juno to be cool. When Olive finally did her little performance I was laughing my ass off, for some reason I did not expect it. :lol

Little Miss Sunshine was marginally better than Juno, but that isn't saying much.

I'd agree that the dialogue didn't feel as forced as it did in Juno.

I saw this at a screening before the general public knew a movie called Juno would ever exist and thought it was pretty good.

And conversely, movies like Juno can generate a buzz and film elitists will instinctively trash it because of the excessive acclaim it receives, even though it's a better movie than they'll give it credit for.

Very true.

I'm not a fan of these type of movies because they aren't funny to me.

To each his own.
