Any state where Bush still has a 64% approval rating in any group (GOP voters) that is not his immediate family is too fucking conservative to serve as an election bellweather for either party. I applaud Michigan's Demos for moving their primary up, even at the cost of their delegates. Something needs to be done about the American Gothic beginning to the primaries, even if it's national primary day.

Iowa has some of the most educated and politically aware voters in the country.

People seem to despise this for some reason.

Personally, I like the close look Iowans give the candidates. A close look is a great way to start an election cycle, imho.

Although i kind of dislike the way the caucus thing works, i tend to agree with SouthernFried. I like the fact that they do a lot of the work for everyone...


I really dont like the whole electoral college thing though...i hate the fact that i live in texas, pretty much means that whether i vote or not, or whether i like the republican candidates or not, my state is going to vote republican..

Used to vote Democrat back in the early to mid 1900's when Democratic party actually stood for something. The Democratic party used to be pretty conservative. I wonder where and why the shift occured?
