VANTAA, Finland -- Former NBA star Scottie Pippen scored nine points to help Finland league leader Torpan Pojat beat Honka 98-85 on Saturday.
Pippen also had nine rebounds.
"It was great. I did not know what to anticipate without a game for the last three years," the 42-year-old Pippen said. "My conditioning is not at the top level, but I played with a great team and had a lot of fun."
ToPo had won 19th straight games in the Finnish league.
Pippen scored 12 points in his first game Friday, ToPo's 93-81 win over Porvoo.
"We had a lot of young kids here today, and that's how you make it, you dream young and you work at it," he said.
Pippen will play a game in Sundsvall in northern Sweden on Friday.

either that or basketball is the dominating passion in his life and he can no longer compete at the nba level. so naturally he finds another league.
this board has some really stupid people.
i'd actually like to see more of this.

He could actually be playing for the love of the game but its highly unlikely knowing how greedy Pippen is. I recall Magic Johnson playing in games in Europe for fun after he retired. I think he played in sweden a few games just for fun.

Ah so what, if he wants to do it great. What's wrong with wanting a little extra bread?

this is such an outlandish assumption, i'm almost at a loss for words.
what makes you the authority on strangers' hobbies? maybe he likes the fact that every guy in the arena looks up to him, and he can serve as a sort of player/coach. he definitely loves the game of basketball. this is like saying there's no fucking way mario andretti owns a really fast car and drives it on the autobahn. :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang
how many of these can i use? :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang

you're right. the 20 or so million he's lost in investments obviously has nothing to do with it. i know when i think about basketball, i think finland.
