Take it easy

01/09 GS 10:00pm
01/13 @TOR 12:30pm
01/14 @NJ 7:30pm
01/16 @BOS 7:30pm
01/18 @MIA 7:00pm

Those road games are tough. I would have to say the only game I can see them winning is Miami.(maybe Toronto)

portland will get the 8 seed. houston won't make it and once baron davis' knee explodes like it does every year, golden state will be out of the playoff picture as well*.

*i'll go ahead and write the response of every sunfan and spurfan that wants to be a stupid dick, that way you guys don't have to type it, it's written here for you - "hahaha mavfan just doesn't want to see the warriors in the playoffs! lol choke job! i love cock in my mouth! my ass too! fingercuff me!"

Portland is overachieving right now. Not saying they suck, but they won't be challenging anyone until 2010-2011. No superstar+no veterans = disaster in the playoffs.

They are fun to watch but eventually they are going to hit a rough patch. When teams start jockeying for playoff postions. On their upcoming road games I think they will be in for a rude awakening in Boston. Still they will be a team to be reckon with in a few years.

If its ok with you, just watch for a bump come March/April. I don't think you hate the rox, but don't forget they have had a new coach/system/players/injuries etc and the most road games/fewest home games of any other team in the nba and the schedule is favoring them to make a run now, even w/out tmac.

They will be the odds on favorite in a few years, but I will always have my doubts with Portland when their loaded 2000 team lost with a 15 pt lead in the 4th.

The Trailblazers will be liked until the over hyping from their fans annoys the shit out of the other basketball fans.

They are a nice team, no doubt. Its good to see them do well.

Portland is doing good right now.

But once that overrated wasted draft pick - who screwed the fans with a knee injury but is getting bailed out by his team winning this season - comes aboard, I expect Portland to be a .500 team at best.

The Blazers have played great so far this year, above expectations. But, they still haven't beaten any good team on the road yet.

Thye are better then thier record suggest. That record in the East would be good enough for the 4th seed.

It's nice to see my hometown team playing well again. But I don't expect anything great this year or next.

Wait till the '09-'10 season and see if they are an elite team by then, or back to underachievers.

Hopefully they'll be one of the elite.

That only means that being a fourth seed in the East doesn't mean a team is good. Poor argument.

Utah is not a good team this season. And, their record reflects that.

Plus last season they took everyone by surprise. It was the first time in a few years the Jazz were healthy. I think this season teams are taking them more seriously. But they do need to keep pace because if thier record is identical to the Blazers for a playoff spot Portland has the tiebreaker by virture of winning the season series.

re:utah jazz
it does mean they are better than 11 other teams and only worse than 3 others out east, which is nothing to be proud of. their record, furthermore, was inflated early this season by playing weaker opponents and have stumbled against better opposition. they still have a very weak interior presence.

had you mentioned the fact that portland defeated the nuggets twice in one week, it would have made a better argument because of denver's massive big men who aren't afraid to put the hurt on people.

It is so weird to me- Portland being a team that I would brag about my team beating.

But they are and I am- going to brag that is. :fro

Gutsy win by the Raps against a near relentless, very impressive Portland squad. :)

We'll get a better gauge on the Blazers with this road trip. A few tough games against New Jersey, Boston, Orlando, Atlanta, and New Orleans. I'd be curious to see if they can go better than .500 on this 7 game trip. Already one down with the Toronto loss.

I agree with that. I think the only games I see as wins are Atlanta,Miami. I am not so sure about New Jersey and I doubt they can get one in Boston.
