Trailblazers ... their streak is going strong, and they're a young, fast team with a lot of promise.

I chose Golden State only b/c they beat us already. NO doesn't scare me

None. We can't beat any playof team without Manu and Barry.

EDIT: But if I had to choose from that list, I would want to play the Blazers or Hornets. The rest are tough for us without any bench points.

no 'other'?? i only fear denver in the first round... not for that fact that we could lose to them but because they always beat the shit out of us and we don't need any more first round beatdowns. They're TOO physical, Let Dallas have denver in the first round and the lakers have ths Suns... damn that would be sweet

Blazers are playing well, but the Hornets have interior defense, rebounding, and great point guard play that are probably helps more in a seven game series.

I still think the Mavs are the only Western Conference team that can beat the Spurs in a 7-game series. They may not be heading to a 70-win season, but there's just something about the match-up that troubles me.

Agreed that Denver just beats up people. Then again, Dallas does it too, just with cheaper shots. Hate to have either one in the first round, we'd just come out of those games with injuries. Manu and Tony will need a week just to recover from all the punches they'd get.

Either one is fine in the last round tho.

The Spurs :smokin :lol

I think the Hornets are pretty scary as well this season. Mavs seem overrated and easier to deal with.

I honestly think that if the playoffs were right now, i wouldnt want to face anyoen at all. The spurs are playing piss poor basketball. I dont think we could beat anyone in a 7 game series right now.

I'd say Mavs and Nuggets. Lakers will also be a tough 1st round draw I think for anyone and I can see them possibly pulling out a Golden State-like upset in the first round.

Mavericks. They are struggling a bit this year, but they ALWAYS bring their A-game versus us, and the Warriors now it seems.

I couldn't believe 10 people chose Portland Trail Blazers! A young, inexperience team like them would be every playoff team's dream opponent. Without a doubt, the spurs would sweep them if they meet in playoff.

experience is overrated. how experienced were the cavs when they made it to the finals last year.

The year before last year they made playoff and beat Wizards.

BTW, they were swept by the spurs in finals. Do you think the spurs would sweep the pistons if they met in last finals?

they were still considered quite inexperienced compared to the pistons, whom they went on to beat. hero of game 7?? rookie daniel gibson.

all im trying to say is that when/if portland loses in the postseason, experience won't be the main reason.

i'll bump this if and when the blazers reach the postseason and count how many times they botched a play because of inexperience. trust me, experience counts bigtime in the playoffs.

stupid coaching was the culprit. no double teams to lebron in game 5, hence, lebron was able abuse his man? game 6, too much double teaming without mixing up the defense? he's bound to find an open shooter.

The cavs had playoff experience when they played the wizards in 2006 playoff, and the wizards were also young inexperience playoff team. They beat the wizards in the last second of the Game 7. They were very lucky! Last season, even more lucky, they met the wizards (without Arenes) again in the 1st round. When they met the pistons, they had some experience already! Moreover, they had much easier playoff jouney than the pistons.

Most players in portland even don't have any playoff experience. I don't think they can compare to the cavs.

I think we all need to realize that this is the year we don't need to worry about any team, including Dallas. We were and are unstoppable with the Big Three intact. I think our record with the Big Three intact, after today's win, is 17-3.....

The Cavs had a red carpet path to the Finals. If Chicago had won that game vs the Nets they would have secured the # 2 seed and knock the Cavs to the 5th seed. The Cavs would have open against the Heat instead of the Arenasless and Butlerless Wizards. In the 2nd round the Cavs drew the choke artist Carter. Of course Wallace's game 6 meltdown cost the Pistons what was a close game.

Is true but a young team playing with that much confidence can give a team fits in the playoffs. They know they will likely not win a series vs the Spurs,Suns or Mavs and they will play like a team with nothing to lose.

The Spurs would eat Portland's lunch in the playoffs. The only teams that can give the Spurs trouble in the WC are PHX and DAL. But the way SAS is playing right now a lot of teams could beat the crap out of them, they look old/injured/tired. Hopefully they are just coasting it till the playoffs.

There are only two matched opponents in the league. None may trouble us except the Mavericks and Pistons.
I don't care the Suns and Celtics, we can beat them absolutely, in 7-games postseason.

If the playoffs were today, Houston wouldn't be playing. But they aren't and the Rockets are coming around and finally gelling. So watch out come playoff time. Finally found us a point guard in Aaron Brooks. 22 pts off the bench yesterday. Too fast to stop..and he can outquick anyone.

How many does that make?

Always great to pimp a home victory over the Knicks as a franchise turning point.

Golden State Warriors! See what they did to the Mavs and Stephen Jackson used to play with the Spurs and had defended Manu well in their last meeting. I just hope Manu will find a better way to escape him in their game tomorrow (the time here is 3:30 pm, 01/07/08 so it's tom. at 1:30 pm Marianas Time) Stephen get out of Manu's way :devil :devil :devil or else :ihit :ihit :ihit

I'm just really glad that the playoffs are not today. Right on schedule, the Spurs haven't been playing well and their rotation is completely fucked. They're due for a signature loss and a reason to go on a streak, and the playoffs just can't happen until that happens.

why arent the Nuggets on the list? oh wait, i forgot, they fold there tents anytime they see the spurs in the playoffs. someone tell George Karl that the 1st round isnt a 1-game series. you need to win 4 games to advance to win, not 1. Nuggets always win game 1 then proceed to lose next 4

how many point guards does a team need anyway?
