This game should have been won in regulation.

Tony Parker just made a routine shot at the end of regulation, no big surprises there...

Just close it out.

Could we have resigned Jax with out screwing the Manu plan in 2005? I'm pretty sure we could have since Jax was a free agent from Atlanta and the Spurs could have signed him instead Barry. My first choice was Jax second Nocionni third Barry. Well Pop went with Barry. All the Spurs had to do was offer him the full midlevel exception and I'm sure he would have been onboard, if not at least they would have tried and then moved onto Barry or Nocioni.

GS has got to be one of the best 4th quarter teams in the league. I have never seen a team produce so many 4th quarter comeback wins in my life. If they are playing at home and the game is even reasonably close you can almost guarantee a Warrior victory. It's insane.

They seem to have a knack for hitting those timely 3pt shots.

poor calls went both ways, what about when oberto blatantly fouled baron's arm and no call was made

blaming the refs in any way for this is lame

tim going for a steal on jackson and moving away from the basket while jackson pivoted and made a baby layup is the type of shit defense that caused us to lose

not baron davis getting a whistle

udoka fouling baron davis like he's wearing pink panties instead of fouling him harder so he gets 2 regular free throws is what caused us to lose

manu leaving jackson so wide open that he was allowed to smoke an entire blunt before taking the shot is what caused us to lose

not the refs

Could we have resigned Jax with out screwing the Manu plan in 2005? I'm pretty sure we could have since Jax was a free agent from Atlanta and the Spurs could have signed him instead Barry. My first choice was Jax second Nocionni third Barry. Well Pop went with Barry. All the Spurs had to do was offer him the full midlevel exception and I'm sure he would have been onboard...

poor calls went both ways, what about when oberto blatantly fouled baron's arm and no call was made

blaming the refs in any way for this is lame

tim going for a steal on jackson and moving away from the basket while jackson pivoted and made a baby layup is the type of shit defense that caused us to lose

not baron davis getting a whistle

udoka fouling baron davis like he's wearing pink panties instead of fouling him harder so he gets 2 regular free throws is what caused us to lose

manu leaving jackson so wide open that he was allowed to smoke an entire blunt before taking the shot is what caused us to lose

not the refs

exactly... this is spurs 07-08 basketball so far. the refs don't lose games for you but shit the warriors were getting all the ticky tack fouls the spurs weren't..

And the home court fans are loud and proud! GS 6th man is their fans.

And he may have made some mistakes but I thought Duncan was incredible.
32 points (9-19)
13 boards, 4 offensive
3 assists
only 1 turnover (nice, his TO's have been horrible lately)
and...14-16 at the line

I'm not worried about this lost. They played the Warriors tough. Could have won. Oh well. The D is far from perfect, but considering that this was the first game since November in which the big three played the entire game, no worries. They are still finding their way back into their swagger, and the defense will undoubtedly come around.

Tim had a good statistical game but he had mental errors on the defensive end and that one where he went for the steal and let Jackson turn around and lay it in was probably the biggest mental blunder I've seen Duncan make this season.....it was absolutely inexcusable
he also was turning it over by allowing people to swipe the ball again

That's when Nocioni came into the NBA. He needed a decent contract to come over to pay his buyout which I think turned out to be a 9 million 3 year deal. Spurs paid Barry more than that. I don't even know if the Spurs were interested in him at all back then, but the should have been after seeing him in the 2004 Olympics.

Also, it's kind of scary just how good the Western Conference is this year....last year's 7th and 8th seeds have a chance to win 50+ games this season...not to mention the emergence of surprise teams like the Blazers and Hornets who are playing really well. Anyway you stack it, it's going to be a tough road just to get out of the Western Conference. Meanwhile, for all the talk of the East being tough now that the Celtics are good again...there remains only 2 legit contenders in the East (3 if you possibly want to throw in the Cavs). After that, the rest of the Eastern Conference playoff teams are again a joke.

On one of the possessions, Manu doubled off Jax , and the other player, was slow to rotate on Jax, he clanked it on that one, but it was pretty blatant.

Anyway, we lost this game because we all had poor defensive stretches, individually for everyone. But the Warriors were just doing their thing, so whatever. Just another regular season game.

I wonder WHY we lost the game? Our old players cloudn't stay in their legs in the OT...This year we take Dallas's role and LOST already 2 times against Golden State - Elson was perfect to play in this game - he could run, he was fresh, and the Spurs could've drilled GS's defense on the middle by going through the center - the problem is Pop was playing ONLY Timmy at the center - he benched Oberto, who is playing him only 13 minutes per game - so, Oberto doesn't perform...Elson was on bench as well and played ZERO minutes again (!!!) - so there you go again - we are playing WITHOUT CENTERS (the same way we lost from Dallas 3-4 in the Playoffs), and the defense in the middle is NOT working properly (Horry is too old to do what Elson and Oberto can...)...When you look at the stats - when Timmy, Tony and Manu score in double digits, the Spurs should win, right? But, because Pop is playing WITHOUT CENTERS-BIGS, NOBODY could close the PAINT and could block shots - it is too much work for Timmy to work on both ends, who has to score, gets rebounds, and play in both ends of the floor - something impossible to do - that is WHY we will keep LOSING when playing like this...The questions is HOW FAR this could go? I said before Popovich has tendency to do FOOLISH things after he wins Championships - THAT IS WHY HE COULDN'T REPEAT titles because he NEVER kept the system that gave him the success (while there is an argument that he couldn't keep some of his players before, this year he even kept all the players, but he is changing the system all the time - he benched elson and Oberto!). His problem is - he gets 'off balance' too easy - Elson irritated him somehow, now he sits, and we suffer the consequences from that(???);

THE SPURS ARE CURRENTLY a .500 team - win one and lose one...By that said, if they keep the current system to play "WITHOUT CENTERS", they WILL NOT REPEAT...Horry is NOT the same as before to help timmy in the end of games - Oberto played very well in the Playoffs last year - he deserves to start - Elson showed some good signs as well - he blocked the "game winning" attempt at ATT centers against Dallas this year...
