My question is was it Hayden's fault or was he directed to act that woodenly? I've never seen him in any =thing else so it's hard to judge, but I think it was probably Lucas's fault.

Let's face it, just about everyone in those movies looked like they acted poorly, and we all know that people like Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor can act.
