that explains things. i haven't hardly been able to sleep, even while being sick.

You know my son and my best friend are both sick and they both are having trouble sleeping. Maybe you need to do Nyquil; I just know that when I'm sick like that, it doesn't matter what medications I take, the only thing that helps is sleep.

Is it the stomach flu? I had that a few weeks ago- was terrible.

Pepto Bismo helped a lot with my stomach issues and advil helped with the headache/ muscle aches.
I found Chicken noodle soup and Saltine crackers to be comforting as well.

Rest a lot and stay hydrated.

I pray you feel better soon! :)

i had a whole bottle the other day (not at once, just throughout the day), and still only got maybe about 4 hours of sleep. but normally that stuff does the trick for me. not this time though...

Try Theraflu nighttime, that puts me out better than NyQuil. Drink as much fluids as you can, then a cup of manzanilla (chamomille) tea and the Theraflu. You will wake up better after two days of this.

get an entire cup down right before you go to bed and you'll wake up feeling great. theraflu is magic.

Why are you guys drinking the powdered stuff? Get the liquid that looks like NyQuil, the "warming" stuff. Worked like a charm and much easier to take than the chalky drink.

But, if you have to get the chalky drink down, put it in a cup of hot lemon tea with lots of honey and slam it.

medicines, nyquil and all that stuff just keeps you sick. throw them away. stay off sugar(lots of "medicines" contain sugar) and dairy. drink a good herbal tea with raw honey. drink lots of water. clean your ears with hydrogen peroxide and get some sleep. i got the flu on christmas and it lasted 2 days when i followed this regimen.

I don't want to jinx myself but I have never had the flu before and have no idea what it feels like to be that sick. from my persepective it seems people who get the flu are borderline dying or something and need alot of rest.

You aren't borderline dying, but yes it sucks ass and you need lots of fluids and rest so your body can recuperate.

Also, men are big whiny babies when sick and often make it seem worse than it really is.

Here is the best cure for flu

1. Find tall building
2. Locate roof
3. Jump off

I had it once, back in the sixth grade, and it was a very mild case as the flu goes. I was fine after about two days.

I don't live in Dallas and rarely spend time there. I know what the Castro district is in San Francisco and I've never been there. Seriously, Dallas is NOT that much of a cosmopolitan city. If you got that vibe, then that's probably because of where you were. Why is being gay considered such a bad thing? It's 2008.

My advice....

Get a job that mandates the flu shot...then you rarely have to deal with the flu.

They even have something called the "flu mist" which is a nasal spray....no needles.

Prevention is the best course....

I don't know when the last time I had the fluw was.

Plus, this latest front brought in more cedar and I can barely keep my eyes open, they are watering so badly.

Someone kill me now.

If you get this thing, I really feel for you as it will knock you on your ass. I woke up at midnight on Friday with a fever of almost 104, plus all the coughing (Mucinex DM works great, btw). I've had it since Wednesday and today, while I still have a temp of around 100, I'm not as achy. But now I've got to get rid of all the gunk which is the worst part. And now I think my kids are coming down with it. Good times.

Stay healthy!

Flu Sweeps Through San Antonio
Reported by: Leslie Bohl Jones
Email: [email protected]
Last Update: 7:51 am

After a mild flu season last year, San Antonians are definitely feeling the contagious bug this time around. News 4's Leslie Bohl Jones shows us the numbers behind this year's flu trend.

It's contagious, painful and enough to make you miserable. The flu has many San Antonians staying home from work and school this week.

More than 250 people filled waiting rooms at Texas MedClinics all over town this week, including more than 100 cases on the northwest side alone. This time last year, there were only about 30 cases city-wide. The best way to protect yourself this flu season is to get a flu vaccine.

Hundreds more are suffering from upper respiratory infections this week, also known as the common cold. An upper respiratory infection can be passed from person to person by sneezing, coughing, or other personal contact. You can treat a mild infection with over the counter medications.
