Have y'all seen the ridiculous commercial for the new show on HGTV called Sleep on It? This has to be THE worst thing I've ever seen. Meatloaf must be mortified.

Hopefully this link will work

The HGTV website has a mini-musical on there....it's about 2 minutes....horrible horrible horrible. I don't see how anyone can perform that and not be embarassed. They must've gotten paid a lot.

So sleeping in a home for 24hrs is suppose to help you decide to buy a house.

How many times have you moved somewhere and said "shit, I wish I would have known about THAT before I moved in?" IMO it's not a bad idea.

The one I saw, tho, had some uber-yuppie couple from the bay area trying to decide "should I spend $680,000 to live an hour and a half outside of SFO or $750,000 to live 75 minutes away." Both houses were smaller than the rather modest thing we have not to mention NO YARD.

I think the idea behind it is a great idea....as their website says, it gives a potential buyer a chance to "kick the tires" before making a decision. Sure...the sunken living room LOOKS wonderful, but after tripping on the step 50 times, you're cursing yourself for buying a house with a sunken room.

And touching on this...I'm flabbergasted when I watch shows like "House Hunters" and they look at a 1,500 sf home with 3 br/2bth for $350,000 in LA. The other day I was watching "Flip this House" and a couple bought a house (in the LA area) for $314,000, and it was a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath home....they flipped it and put it on the market for $390,000.

When I lived in L.A., I was renting my 3 bedroom/1 bath house (1600 sq ft) for $2000 a month. The owner of the house asked me if I wanted to buy it because he was putting it on the market ... for $600K :lmao Needless to say, I couldn't afford that mortgage.
