Spurs are right on course - they normally play mediocre to bad come January/ early February and start to fly under the radar. They lose to lesser teams and play some really terrible games. Pop grays even more, complains that this is one of the worst teams his has ever coached and everyone states that they are too old and slow to contend for the title anymore. Come ASB/RR trip they come together and are back in business.

Mouse, I'm surprised you haven't caught on. This is the game we play every year, even those two years we didn't win but should have. We're playing psychological tricks on everyone. In the end, we will sneak in as we always do.

Man, 82 games is a lot of games. January wins and losses? Give me a break. With a winning record now and in a sport where almost every team gets into the playoffs, who is worried?

Mouse, why bother with a thread like this? We are not in the habit of going bonkers when our team goes in a slump. Think about it, 82 games is a lot of games to play and many factors contribute to minor slumps. Unlike Mav fans who scream "Fire AJ!!", or "Trade so-and-so.". These are the under-the-radar San Antonio Spurs who come out of the gate blasting once the playoffs start.

I however, have doubts about the Mavs with two monumental choke jobs in the past two years gives me reason to think that their window of opportunity is now closed. Now you've been carrying a torch for your Mavs and have said some pretty outlandish things in our forums. Do you get a woody seeing that the Mavs are doing better than the Spurs as of late. Haven't you learned anything in the past ten years? Ten years Mouse, think about it. Even a fair weather Spurs fan can look at the current situation and say "hey, they always pullout a huge run after the All Star break.". But for the Mavs when they go on a two game losing streak, it's "how are we expected to beat the Spurs if we keep losing to the likes of teams under .500.", or "AJ is losing control of his players, don't expect us to go deep into the playoffs with this kind of chemistry."

Yeah, we're still here. we'll stick together and root for our Champions Spurs. And when our trio is gone, we can sit back together and talk about the good 'ole days when our teeny market Spurs dominated a decade of NBA basketball.
