This fucking sucks. Think someone stole her out of my backyard because the gate was open when I got home and it is always shut.

Drag. Was she micro-chipped? But you know, she's such a cutie someone probably just plain took her.

think maybe the meter man could have left the door open or something? cute enough dog, but not one that most people would typically go out of their way to steal. still sucks man. hopefully she shows up.

I don't know, she looks pretty much 100% rat terrier and they are worth plenty.

Harsh.
Losing a pet is always hard, when you lose one and don't know what happened to her it's worse.

I hope she gets back to you.
Did you do the flier thing in the neighborhood?
Does she have a name tag on?

I had a cat disappear for 15 days several years ago. We went nuts, checked the humane society for strays and doa's every other day. After all that time I got a call. He'd been found in someone's backyard 5 miles away. He had his collar and his name tag, they called me. He looked like shit, was skinny and filthy, but we got him back.

Do everything you can. We were told he'd never get back if he was gone more than 3 days.

There's always hope.

That's terrible. I hope you are able to get her back. :(

chihuahuas get smuggled by illegal immigrants from MX to USA and then sold on the street for several $100. They often die a few days later from disease and parasites.

This could have been done for the $$ as easily for the affection.

As told to me by the Chihuahua Rescue Lady for San Diego cty, CA.

She is adorable. :)

Oh, I'm so sorry. I would be crushed if someone took our Jonah or if he got out. Make sure that you call the humane society/animal control to make sure that she didn't get out and hasn't been turned in or picked up.

I hope very much that she is returned to you, she's gorgeous.

Stick a flyer on every convenience store for a 20 mile radius where you live. Be sure to put a reward...don't tell how much the reward is.

That works...better than anything I have found. People don't notice the flyers on poles but they do on convenience stores.

I lost my dog for 3 weeks one time...

You'll be surprised how far a dog can get just by wandering off.

That dog is cute so if someone sees it they are definitely going to pick it up. Even if just to rescue it.

Doglovers generally don't dliberately steal dogs...if it is stolen it probably wasn't by someone intending to give it a loving home. So I wouldn't even waste time thinking about it being stolen or how to get it back. It'll just neg you out and drain your energy in looking for the dog.

It probably wandered outside the fence and got picked up by someone who didn't want to see it get hit by a car...

Now that is some cruel shit right there.

Just got back from the local shelter with Remy. I called in her microchip number and the people told me she'd been picked up last night by Animal Control. I asked the shelter how she was found and they told me someone called in and said there was a dog sitting on a picnic table in the park. When Animal Control got there she was still sitting on top of the table. I'm really glad I got that chip put in because I never have a collar on her cause she chills in the house most of the time. I'm guessing the only way the gate could have been open was if the yard crew guys left it open. Fucking lazy asses. Glad to have the little shit back though. Thanks for the kind thoughts.

My house, but not my beer box. I'll take a welcome home picture of her in a box of Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale later today.

That's a relief. And I'm glad to know those chips actually work; I had my dog chipped when we adopted him, but when I asked at the shelter if they scan all dogs that come in they said just the pure breeds! I was like WTF?!

Our cat has a chip and it wasn't too much. Our dogs are the ones that need to get the chips, though. Bassets will follow a scent to Timbuktu and not know how to get home, if they were to ever get out.

For you pet owners it might be worth it to just go ahead and get the chip. Especially if your pet is left outside for extended periods of time.

You can get one at your vet and they cost about $25. Also on Tuesdays in the pet section of thepaper, they have announcements about mobile pet clinics where you can take your pet to like a Walmart or something to get chipped.
