Can someone who watched this game please explain to me what happened? Was Flip playing his bench the entire game? How on earth did DET lose to NYK, and lose badly too?

also second game of a b2b (and 4th game in 5 nights). in the previous game, all the starters played 35+ minutes, with rip, chauncey, and prince either close to or above 40+ minutes.

and having flip saunders as your coach probably doesnt help

I don't buy the b2b reason. They Pistons thumped all over the Spurs while getting beat the night before in Dallas.

I guess it was just one of those nights. A lot of good teams lose to crappy teams. Sometimes it's just not your night no matter what you try.

Pistons let the Knicks have this. Pistons are always good on back to backs, this game was just so lop sided I think somthing was up. Isiah asked Joe for a favor and Joe did it.

b2b's in itself isnt anything. its the exhaustion and fatigue created by b2b's. the first b2b of dallas and san antonio wasnt really as exhausting because there wasnt much traveling from dallas to san antoine, where as charlotte to new york is a lot longer. also, in the dallas game, the pistons starters played around 28 minutes give or take a couple. thus, they weren't too tired for the spurs game. whereas against the knicks, they played a tough overtime game the night before in charlotte in which the starters all played 35+ minutes, some even 40+

4th games in 5 nights are extremely difficult to win on the road, even for great teams. The Spurs have lost twice this season in that scenario (@ SAC, @ GST)

well, if there's any team pistons can afford to lose to, its to the hapless knicks. don't read too much into it fellas. 4th game in 5 nights against new york... i say wallace and company were already looking forward to some rest and relaxation even before the game began.

Knicks just beat a team they were supposed to beat. No surprises here.

Yeah, our starters were tired, but our bench couldn't get a bucket to save their lives either, and them guys were comparatively rested.

Looked to me like the Knicks took lockdown D to a whole new level, harassing Rip,Tay&Jarvis into a combined 1 of 22. Game over. Celtics better start looking over their shoulder - there's a new dog on the block in the Atlantic, and he's mean...
