My gf is so into Valentines Day and was just wondering if there were any awesome ass places in SA or around the area that i might not know of to take her. She loves wine and is a really really really good cook, so the pressure is on me to find a great place. Right now i am leaning towards Myron's Prime Steakhouse in New Braunfels (never been but it looks really good). Any suggestions would be greatly appreicated. Thanks. I live South East of SA, so nothing to far from there.

If you're looking for a nice steak place with a nice wine selection, you might consider Kirby's on 1604 near Stone Oak Parkway. It's expensive, but we really enjoyed it and the steak was well worth the $35.00 price tag. It's kind of like Ruth's Chris in the respect that everything is separate....you pay extra for a baked potato, french fries, etc.

Grey Moss Inn in Helotis

Nice wine selection, great ambiance outside under the huge oak trees and the stars.

Lobster and Ribeye steak is great

Their French Apple Pie is fantastic

Then afterwards, dive up Towerview drive for a beautiful view of SA, and some backseat loving. :)

The steps of the Bexar County Court house has something pretty romantic going on at different times all day long on Valentine's Day, and it's free!

If she's into cooking, she'll really appreciate this.

Cafe Paladar (http://www.cafepaladar.com/)

My wife and I ate there for our anniversary and I highly recommend it.

I haven't been there since a girl threw up on my back running thru the restaurant toward the bathroom. She didn't make it.

But from what I remember, it is a fabulous place with a lot of ambiance and charm.

We haven't been back since the time we were there for our anniversary and had a waiter that insisted on talking to us the whole time we were there. And they were out of the wines we selected.

My husband was telling me about a place that's in Castle Hills that does the 7 course meal thing...she might like that if she's into cooking. I'll find out the name from him because I know they have a website.

I've been and it's amazing! The chef's other restaurant, BIN 555, is also amazing. Money well spent. Absolutely.

Only that if you hold your breath long enough, you just pass out and start breathing again. Oh, and don't do it around anything with a sharp corner. :oops :depressed

I'm gonna have to give it a try too. Based on the website, the prices are very reasonable.

thanks for all of the help everyone!!! I think i am going to try out this place in New Braunfels (Myron's Prime Steakhouse) for Valentines day, but for sure going to hit up these other places for other special occasions or just to be a great boyfriend and suprise her ,, lol. Its about a 30 35 minute drive to SA so hopefully going to New Braunfels will give us plenty of time afterward for her to reward me, if you know what i mean.... oh yeah.
