I really liked her in "The Bob Newhart Show." :depressed

I guess I'm most sad because she is my mom's generation and I am having anxiety issues about losing her. No matter how old I am, I still want my mommy some days.

I saw an interview with her not too long ago and she looked awful, you could tell she was sick. RIP.

Only 70. All her money couldn't beat smoking cancer.

I know what you mean, Sapphire. My parents are her age and I hate reading about that generation dying :(

I read yesterday that Alice's boyfriend, Sam the Butcher, from the Brady Bunch died also. :depressed

I loved him when he was on Gomer Pyle, too.

sad news...cigarettes claim another victim. That is what claimed my mother too. Just can not understand why people, knowing what we know about the harmful effects of cigaretes, people still start smoking nowadays.

She was awesome in that final episode of Newhart when they did the "i just had the craziest dream" thing. We shared the same birthday. Wow.

She was great.

RIP.

"You should wear more sweaters." One of my favorite final episode endings ever.

I can understand people who STARTED smoking way back before there was hard evidence that smoking caused lung cancer, not to mention a myriad of other health problems, but when I see the number of young people smoking today, knowing what they know....it's staggering.

My mother was 12....TWELVE....when she started smoking. She quit about 5 years before she died (in a car wreck) but I remember thinking how amazing it was that her autopsy showed "clean, pink, healthy lungs" after only 5 years of not smoking.

That's encouraging! I am coming up on my 4 year quit anniversary in March. It feels good to be able to breathe!

Mine will be 8 years on February 29th. I quit in February 2000, a leap year, so that I could smoke that one extra day. :lol
