LOL beating a Bynum-less Lakers at home and now the switch is flipped? You guys are delusional, your offense is still weak. Too much reliance on 3 pointers, TParker can't penetrate for shit anymore.

I am about to go into rodeo road trip posting mode.

I am not sure that the switch has been flipped, but the second half certainly had to be a sign of things to come. Regardless if our opponent was shorthanded. It was good to see the team play at a much higher level. Let's hope this carries over into the RRT.

BYNUM? Who gives a shit about Bynum? If the Spurs' offense is weak, what do you call that 7 minute stretch in the third quarter when the Lakers scored an astounding ZERO points?

I don't know if the switch is flipped, but we'll find out by mid February (all star break) if the Spurs are headed in the right direction. I was thinking the Charlotte game was the beginning of the engine reving up, and this game tonight is a few more rpm's towards the redline. Can't let down against the Heat tomorrow.

Let's see if Udoka can replicate his play Thursday night... or come close to it.

Yeah the Hornets are definately the measuring stick according to Shoog :)The best team in the Western Conference? Winners of 6 in a row and 14 of 16?

Yeah, they're a suitable measuring stick.

At least they're at full strength.

This game was an encouraging sign, and the Spurs are under the radar too, right where they like to be.
Let espn and the media talk about the celtics, lakers, hornets, magic, blazers, whoever. We've all seen this movie before.

Me too. Last year the road trip was an indecisive 4-4, but it brought the team together and they never looked back. Same again on the menu this year.

I'd say pulling out a win on the road against a team shooting out of their minds for most of the game, and when your dependable scorers had an off night AND using your defense to win is a pretty good indicator things have changed a bit.

even when this team has been at the top of its game, wins on back-to-backs over anybody have never been easy to come by.

they did shoot 49%, so I don't think the defense gave many good indicators (although it did lock down when the Spurs needed it).

but it's a step. our guys probably lose this game a couple of weeks ago.

TO me the defense worked to plan, close the lane force D Wade to pass to others, and Mark Blount, Jason Williams, and other stooges shot out of their minds most of the game. Especially Mark Blount.

I agree, and agree generally that a win, under the circumstances, was nothing to really sneeze at, but I'm not ready to believe quite yet that the Spurs have completely turned the corner and are starting to roll downhill quite yet. Obviously, I hope I'm wrong about that, but there were still somet things tonight that left me reluctant to buy into the flipped switch conclusion.

The switch just got flipped off yet again. I love the Spurs as much as anyone but I doubt any domination this season. I'm a realist first and optimistic second. I don't see this squad right now doing much. Broken D, no ball movement, no set rotation, poor rebounding, old, high expectations. It's just too much to overcome and what needs to be done wont be due to a stubborn front office.

I still don't consider a jump shooting team, and has Peja Stoyakovic relied on heavily to help let off pressure on the inside.

Personally the Spurs switched way too much on defense, and there was way too much double teaming of Chris Paul.

Bowen should've stayed on Peja, and Udoka to Paul and let Parker play free roamer.

Organizational and team complacency. It's human nature to relax after achieving a goal. It's only natural to lose some of that drive and hunger. Maybe that's why the Spurs haven't repeated so far.

There's still time to right the ship. However at some point, an honest assessment (of the team's true capabilities and the makeup of the roster) must be made. The question is how long does the coaches and FO wait to do so?
