I'm looking at the floodplain maps and the legend doesn't have more information about the preliminary floodplain, it says 100, 500, FC, and FW, but I have no idea what that means, anybody?

Where did you get that picture from?

It's hosted on a Image shack site.

100 is 100-year plain, 500 is ...

My back lot is 1/2 in the 100 year plain. I can't touch it, can't cut trees, can't plant trees, can't build anything.

SanAntonio.gov's GIS is pretty damn cool and contains tons of info.

Note that ALL surface water in the USA belongs to the Corps of Engineers, who brought you the destruction of New Orlean, of the Everglades, etc, etc. Once the rain hits the street and is runoff and/or feeds into San Antonio or other river, it belongs to CoE.

The SA River Authority is adjusting their floodplain maps right now and will have meetings next week to get public input. They have a tool on their Web site which allows people to see both the current and updated maps.

Hey where do you work, or is this first hand knowledge from building and permits?

I wonder why San Antonio has not fixed the flooding problems? They did a band-aid job to get Votes.

Then again this is the same city that can't fix a HWY right the second time in a 10 year span. I remember construction on the 410/west ave, are I went to a club called Piranha.

They had those cones out all year long. You think they want to fix the real issue Job security?

This whole city is corrupted in scandals and bribes, The FBI only touched the surface during the raid a few years back on the city council.

Where was Buddy Holly during that time? Under some bed with his road map blanket saying "bad things go away!" like some sort of 8 year old until things get better?

Why won't he make topics of "all" the San Antonio Metro activity not just the Positive cherry picked story's he feels he needs to alert us to.

The bottom-line there is no real plan.
