Spurs have 2 players in double figures after 3 qtrs, while yielding 50% FG.
Only 10 AST for 24 FGs.

I thought I'd wait until after AS break to judge this team, but forget that, we have MAJOR LIABILITIES all over the court, and that makes the Big 3 to force too much.
Exactly. The big 3 are trying to force it. The role players on this team are completely worthless right now. They are doing nothing. That's what makes this year different IMO.
TP must drive the rest of the game.

no we arent. it will get figured out just like every year. why is this year any different? because we are older?
Because this year is unlike any other previous year. The west is so unbelievably loaded that a 50-win season may not be a guarantee of a playoff seat. Just look at the standings, the Jazz and the rockets are out of the picture, and there is not much difference between the first 6 seeds.
Unf&cking believable.
And the way the Spurs are playing? Unf&cking believable too!!!
It's still a long way to go, but the spurs can't really lose too many games this season.

spurs 3 point shooting is shit recently but they seem to want to jack them up anyway. I dont understand this. Turnovers are hurting. Lack of ability to stop... really anything when it matters.

All in all, it's just becoming painful to watch the Spurs play. Whereas I used to not worry about them being down 8 or 10 points, now it seems the kiss of death because they just have a hard time coming back from a deficit.
It seems they aren't ready to play at the tip-off and they get in a big hole - then they play halfway decent for the rest of the game, but not good enough to overcome the 1st quarter deficit.

The rotation needs to be tightened period. Elson looked decent tonight. Ime has the fire, compassion and competitive hunger we need. He needs 25-30 minutes a game, even if that means play Vaughn less so be it. Let Manu run point. There's always a 5 minute stretch where we have Vaughn Oberto Horry Manu and another wing out there and we just about always fall in some sort of whole and it's getting old.

if the Spurs shld add another player before deadline I hope they think of one who is not just a role player but one who can really score. This might be Duncan's last shot of repeating. Every time the Spurs made a run, Utah answered. That is the problem with digging yourself a hole to start the game. You can't show up for only part of the game and think you will win.
The Spurs had a grand total of 11 assists- Williams had 14 of his own along with Boozer's 7. Tony had more turnovers than assists and Vaughn had no assists in 15 minutes of playing time. Every big man not named Tim sucked.

yeah - the 1st half wasn't even over and the Spurs had 9 turnovers - with the Jazz scoring 13 points off those turnovers. And the Spurs were only down 5 at that point!
I mean the Jazz had what, 13 steals tonight?! That's totally unacceptable! However, in the Spurs defense, many of those steals probably would've been called as fouls with a different officiating crew. :depressed
Oh, and as far as Ime being tossed - I have to agree with Sean - Ime was just fed up with the Jazz flopping around and all the stupid fouls being called. He wanted to play a competitive game - not a game of "let's see who's the better flopper." :madrun

The hard thing about that is when our outside shooting isn't falling the other team will just double Tim and dare our players to shoot. This is why Barry is vital for this team.
Yeah, we're now acknowledged to be a poor 3-pt shooting team in the game plan.

I'm still confused...How did Udoka get the first technical? He and Boozer were arguing? If it was double tech, then why didn't the Spurs get one technical foul shot?
Gotta give big props to Manu for an amazing game...29 pts, 9-9 FTs, in the fourth quarter, it seemed like he was the only one playing especially. Timmy did play pretty good with his 26 points, but 7 TOs is very unlike him at all...I'm really worried about TP right now, he just doesn't look healthy out there at all...He had another bad game...And what's happening with Finley and Bruce? And Oberto? Horry? Pop's decisions? I think Udoka did a really good job, I'm still confused why he got kicked out??

It was painful seeing Parker forcing his drives and bricking his jumpshots. Man isn't that the truth! It's gotten so I cringe every time he shoots! Either that, or he drives in the lane - right into 3 or 4 defenders and loses the ball! It's been a long time since Tony has played this poorly.
We can't just rely on Manu to save the day every game. SOMEBODY else - not named Tim - needs to step up and start hitting their shots.

We need to start Manu and Ime. And maybe even Vaughn for a while.
Imagine if the Celtics decided to have Ray Allen on the bench to start every game? You think they'd have such a great record?
