View Full Version : I love my mother

Well, it's that time of year again and I've come down with some kind of bug that's going around. I'm in college and have no money right now, so this is really good timing as far as getting sick goes. But the one person I can always count on is my mother. She's driving from South Austin right to San Marcos right now to bring me some meds and some food. Really makes me feel like a dick for all the trouble I caused her when I was a teenager. Big shout out to all the moms on here, who like mine, would drive an hour out of their way to make their sick and starving little boy (or girl) feel better.

Nice thoughts J.T.

As a mom, I know I'd do anything for my kids. When they're sick or hurt I'd trade places with them if I could.
I've been blessed, my kids rarely cause any real grief, just the usual teenage angst.

It's wonderful that you realize and feel your mom's love. The shout out to us moms on ST is great, but be sure you let your mom know how you feel about her. It will make her day.

Oh...And I hope you feel better.

speaking of moms...

i went to visit mine yesterday and she told me she had something to tell me.

she lifted the back of her hair and showed me a bald spot about the size of a silver dollar. she looked at me and said that she had been diagnosed with cancer and that she had been undergoing chemo secretly and her hair was starting fall out.

i kinda stood there in shock for a second, sorting out the 100's of things that were flying through my mind...

then about 10 seconds pass, she looks at me and says "just kidding, my doctor says my new promotion is creating abnormal stress"

i was so pissed inside, but i just kinda took it in stride... still a bit unsure as to what had just happened. now that i think about it... it's pretty damn funny.

And I loved my mom, too ... which is why she has the place of honor in my house. Which is in a heavy, cast iron urn inside of a pretty green velvet box sitting on the curio cabinet in my entry way. :spin

Moms will do anything for their sons. It's a very special experience to be the mother of a son. Before I had a son, things my dad, brother, boyfriends, husband did used to perplex me and make me wonder "What is it that makes him like that?" Then I had a son and the answer was clear: They are born that way!! :lol

Shelly

I love my kids and all, but I don't think I'd drive an hour for a fricking flu or cold!

Sheyitt, when I had the flu a few weeks ago, I still had to get up and make lunches and make sure they didn't miss the bus and do all my other domestic goddess duties as usual.

And my avatar is cupid struck by his own arrow...his aim was off :lol
