Boston @ home in a big TNT game. I take Boston by 5 or 10. Especially with no Devin Harris.

Then again, if Garnett and Ray Allen are questionable, you gotta give this one to Dallas.

True but if KG plays tomorrow the Celts should win the game. However given thier record if those guys are less then 100 percent I don't see Rivers risking more injuries. They don't gain anything if KG gets hurt again just to beat Dallas.

Boston wants to prove they can play a top West team and they're at home and on national TV.
Boston wins by 10+

-Mavs not too great on the road and are w/o Harris. And Brickhouse.
-KG is likely playing as is Rayella.

We win, whether KG or not plays we are still a better overall team. Josh goes off as they have nobody on him. Damp does a suprisingly good job on Garnett.

It depends on how KG and Ray Allen are doing health wise and how aggressive Pierce is. Pierce is more than capable of going D-Wade/Baron Davis on the Mavs defense. If the big 3 are healthy and aggressive playing their game, Boston will win.

That's not really a stretch. The Mavs have lost to teams this year that are worse than the Celtics minus KG.

Then again, so have the Spurs.

KG must be afraid of the Dirkster....LOL the NBA switched this game to TNT after the trade. its was supposed to be Lakers @ Pistons

as for the game itself....

I can see it now, Pierce will have atleast 15 FTA against the Mavs

wouldnt surprise me if mavs dropped this one w/o KG...Mavs seem to feel sorry for other teams when there are missing a star player, i.e. Denver - Melo, Spurs - Parker, Indy - Oneal, Heat - Shaq/D-Wade,

But according to Charles and Kenny, if we can't beat the Celtics w/o Kevin Garnett, we are not championship contenders. Nevermind that we are missing a key player in our offense. :rolleyes

I don't think alot of announcers/analysts understand Harris' importance to the Mavs. He doesn't come close to equaling Kevin Garnett in terms of value to the team, but he is a very important part of their offense and defense.

Having said that, I still think the Mavs should pull this game out.

If they don't, it's not the end of the world, but heading into this game they def. have the advantage

No KG...No problem! James Posey giving Dallas flashbacks of the Miami series. Paul Pierce is that fucking good when he is constantly aggressive. He was getting to the rim in the 4th. Pierce is more than capable of taking games over hence why this is his team. Great heart these guys showed tonight. Beating the Mavs without KG is impressive. :lmao :lmao :lmao Yeah Celtics have no bench.

I'd love to hear who will be winning it, then.

Spurs would be lucky to crack 70 against Boston.

Hard-fought game by the Mavs. Howard with his usual disappearing act. Harris and his speed would have helped against the Celtics fronting the PGs just past half-court. Dampier picked a hell of a night to suck balls. Looking forward to the next time they meet.

Oh, and sit the fuck down Scott Pollard. You're lucky to be collecting a paycheck anymore.

I wanted Mavs to win this one, but you guys have horrible ball movement especialy with Terry running the point. There were several possessions where he corner himself and then threw a desperation pass to someone for a contested outside shot with 1 sec left. And then big ole Dirk couldn't even secure a rebound over a midget. :lol And I was about to give him props for showing up in the 4th. Also Josh howard is not an allstar. Proof once again that Terry doesn't need to be running the point.

Rondo had a great move and position for that rebound. It wasn't like he was underneath Dirk the whole time and outjumped him for it.

Josh Howard joins Manu Ginobili as a non-All Star. Big deal.

Ginobli doesnt score 17 in the first half and only 2 points after halftime. (A usual occurence) Thats a big difference.

All you said was that Howard wasn't an All-Star. Neither is Ginobili. Points, quarters, no matter. But you're right - Howard also wouldn't go 0-5 with 0 points in the first half against a mediocre defensive team like the Suns.

LOL Dallas and PHX showing the world why they will never win a ring. Nowitzki getting out rebounded by freaking Rajon Rondo and Amare missing 3 crucial free throws down the stretch.

When your star players are mentally weak your team will never win a ring.

Pathetic ass game by the Mavs. Once again they choke in a big game towards the end.

No excuse for a little fucking 6'1 170 pound guy to get a rebound AND a lay up at the end.

:pctoss :pctoss :pctoss

They need to trade for somebody with a pair of balls in these types of games or they're going nowhere in the playoffs this year.

Spur fan especially. Spurs have been sucking so much ass lately, when the Mavs lose you guys go batshit crazy.

The biggest problem for the Mavs is they have no one who can create their own shot during clutch-time. Dirk can make clutch shots, I don't doubt that...but problem is more often than not the Mavs try to dump the ball into Dirk in the 4th quarter and try to have him create his own shot/or for others...a la what Duncan does for the Spurs. However, Dirk isn't that type of player. He's much more better at a catch and shoot.

Dallas desperately needs a playmaker...Howard for all his greatness is a 1/2 half type player..almost always disappears or slows down in the 2nd half. Terry constantly takes bad shots for them. The closest thing to a playmaker the Mavs have you can argue is Harris...as he can pass out after the defense collapses on him. But he's young, turnover prone, and not the greatest passer with good court vision.

This is why I argue that the Mavs would actually be instantly contenders and feared if they got Kidd. He is exactly the type of playmaker/pg the Mavs desperately need.

nah, he's old and sucks. His ability to see the floor & create shot opportunities for others is of no use to us. I'd much rather see Dirk make awkward attempts to back a guy down for 14 seconds and then spin & chunk the ball out of bounds.

^:lol I have to admit it was quite humorous watching Dirk attempt to post up Ray Allen unsuccessfully almost every time.

Great analysis. I thought the game was lost on Terry (obviously Dirk getting punked by Rondo was great) but wannabe punk ass Terry is so inept at running the point that I was laughing the whole time. Mavs would do good to get rid of him.

Absolutely he should.

I understand that he probably thought he was all alone, but that's no excuse. In that situation, with what was on the line, you have to give max effort. it doesn't matter if nobody is within 20 feet of you, you give max effort.

Just another example of how the Mavs still have not learned one effing thing from their previous playoff & crunch-time failures.

I don't understand a lot of Spur fans...we have been playing horrible lately and we get a nice win..but as soon as Dallas loses a game..a ton of them come out and start talking shit, for no particular reason.

It would be like a lot of Dallas fans talking shit after the Seattle game.

Pretty pathetic if you ask me...it must be something about living in San Antonio that makes Spurs delusionalUh, seems you haven't been around long enough.

Some of us talk it about Dallas win or lose, 24/7.

No doubt, how the fuck are you going to let a 6-1 point guard out muscle the game winning rebound away when your a 7 footer, and then be so shocked by it that you let said point guard score an easy layup?

Dude I bet if the Mavs had won you would have said this game doesn't mean anything and it's only january. But since they lost its time for you to rub it in, well I can't blame you I also enjoyed it when you guys lost to the F'kn SUPERSONICS LMAO!

The Mavericks lost without their starting point guard and one of their most important guys off the bench.

Why does that sound familiar?

You base this on what exactly? Boston have everything a title team needs. Good guard play, great defense, a quailty big man and decent depth. they are legit contenders and may well win it all

Honestly, I don't even think about Boston or Detroit. Not at all.

Spurs have a gigantic climb to the Western finals in itself. It's ridiculous how stacked this conference is.

Quote me, THE CELTICS WILL NOT WIN THE 2008 NBA TITLE. They may get there but i honestly dont see that happening either. The spurs(and most top west teams) would eat them alive in the playoffs
