And he was exhausted in the interview with Sagar at the end.
He does so much for this team that doesn't show up in the box score.
He's the heart and soul of this team. The leader. The foundation.

agreed
his 3 with marion in his face to pull within was the defining shot of the game in my opinion.

that's why i still think he shoulda been the Finals MVP last year
Yeah, the Championship was lacking something for me because Duncan didn't get the Finals MVP.
I know Parker's play in the Finals was deserving, but it was Duncan that got us there.
It's all good, we won the Title. But I want to see Duncan with both trophies in his hands at least once more.

Manu played like shit most of the game, still he didnt let it get to him and made all the free throws, and those in clutch time seal the game in favor of the Spurs.
:toast to Manu the Ice Cold Killa.
12 of 12 is pretty impressive. It's hard to count him out, no matter how awful he's playing
Anyway, Steve Nash and Amare also had sub-par lines tonight,
Nash 6-18 2-7 3G 17 Pts.
Amare 5-10 6-11 FT's 4 TO's 16 pts.
to
Manu 3-14 1-5 3G's 19 Pts. 6 TO's
Duncan 7-16 17 Pts 5 TO's
So both Tim and Manu's bad early starts were thankfully matched up with the Suns maing guys having an off night too. :lol

Duncan fought through the beatings and continued to work on both ends.
Finley hit some big 3's.
Ginobli was clutch at the ft line.
Udoka and Bowen hit some timely baskets.
Vaughn took what was given and did his best. I was surprised how easy it was for him to get the basket. Yes, he took a lot of jumpers but he got his way inside quite a few times.
Oberto had a nice quiet and effective night.
Stoudamire choking at the ft line was icing.

His defense on Nash, and his defense of the passing lane was superb in that 4thquarter.
A big reason for the Sun's offensive struggles.

Yes - I think he was surprised that he was the one doing the interview and not Steve Nash! Also, I liked Tim's veiled dig at the officials - he said "it just seemed that the feel of the whole game was against us."
And then he summed up the Spurs whole attitude - "but we just kept fighting and pulled off the win."

WOW what a game! So exciting to watch!
First, welcome back Finley! A clutch shot right there!
Props to Vaughn for stepping up! Good game by him! 17pts!!! Season high!
Amazing defense by Bruce on Steve Nash!
Props to Timmy! 16 pts, 17 rebounds!
Props to Manu for clutch FTs! 19 pts, 12-12 FTs...amazing.
It was a refreshingly nice team win. I like how even though Tim/Manu didn't have a good first half, they still fought through it and came out so much better in the second half.

This is a HUGE win, very ugly game but they never gave up from the start. The thing that stood out to me was the defensive rotations. Previous games they werent making the proper defensive rotations and guys were WIDE open MANY times. Tonight not so much, there were a couple of times but not as much as in recent games. They seemed to play with a sense of urgency tonight. Big Up's to Michael Finley for hitting CLUTCH shots, Bruce Bowen's D on Nash, Timmy hanging in there, Manu being Manu even tho he struggled, Udoka hanging tough, and Vaughn even though he missed many wide open jumpers still being aggresive when need be. Great win guys, now build off of this and keep it up. You can do it! Believe.

It's good to know Manu can still perform playing long minutes!
41 minutes tonight and he didn't miss a free throw
and the last game he played 40 minutes against seattle scoring 29 points.
I love this team's toughness!
I agree...I don't think I've seen Manu play so many minutes as he had done lately...41 minutes is a lot...Tim also played a lot of minutes recently.
I wonder if Pop will now play everyone a lot more minutes due to TP being out with an injury...

(From ESPN Recap)
Ginobili finished with 19 points -- all in the second half ....
Ginobili said that despite trailing all of the first half and most of the game, the Spurs were confident.
"At the half, I was scoreless, Tim [Duncan] had only six points and they [the Suns] had 15 points off turnovers, but we were only down six points," he said. "So we were optimistic that we could get the win."
"We should have been behind by a lot more at the half," Duncan said. "But we gave ourselves a chance with our defense."

I'm a little concerned about the minutes.
Last year we went into the playoffs fresher than most teams because Pop had been so great at keeping the minutes down.
I'm concerned about Duncan the most. His minutes always go up in the playoffs, and his game elevates as well. I don't want to think about how hard it will be for him if he's worn down and banged up.

I'm sure Pop will give him a spell towards the end of the regular season, with Parker out and our recent struggles, we have to ride him. We can't expect to be able to simply rest our 1st team and let the bench make the playoffs. The West is too good for that.
