Chow has a bit of the same problem that Spurrier did in the NFL. There just aren't that many plays you can call against NFL defense that result in your WRs running wild in the secondary AND your quarterback getting 5 seconds to throw the ball.

Titans firing chow is awesome for VY. In case you didn't notice, they were really big on turning him into an athletic Billy Volek rather than an nfl version of Christ Himself. When incompetent shit like that happens, it's time for new blood. PS chow is used to being rushed by oregon state. I need not say more.

i understand that, but i don't think it was the problem. Chow had a crappy quarterback he didn't want and didn't fit his system and Spurrier never had a quarterback worth a damn. there are only 2 teams in the NFL that win despite their quarterback...pittsburgh and tennessee.

Didn't Norm Chow coach all those great BYU QB's?

Great hires. They don't have the personnel that SC does but it should still make that game fun to watch.

I'm not going to give Spurrier any slack there. He was given a) QBs that he wanted and b) he was trying to get a QB killed. The man's protection schemes weren't even close to being even NFL-adequate.

i don't remember his protection schemes, but there is no way he had QBs he wanted...no way. he may have taken what he thought was best available, but thats it. furthermore, Spurrier was 12-20 in 2 years @ washington. its not like he underachieved...his team sucked ass. and its not like they have been good since he left. that being said, i'd probably agree he didn't realize the commitment the NFL was and how much of a micro manager Snyder can be.

...but he was not the failure everyone made him out to be. he just wasn't.
