A 6/8 slasher with nice shooting touch, good rebounder and above average defense, good passer and decent basketball IQ.
Should not be injury prone.

mmm....none of guys listed. :smokin

JR Smith is probably more likely than any of those...so I'll vote for him.

Tyrus Thomas--Tim needs help in the lane, and Ty can jump out of the gym and is strong.

i vote miller because of complete incompetence in the grizzlies front office.

i thought somehow Kapono would be getting more votes... he could fill Barry's role perfectly

This poll is flawed, I think. Memphis has been widely quoted as saying the dumped Gasol in part to focus more on Mike Miller, so I doubt they're parting with him. And I haven't heard about Philly trying to unload Andre Miller, and he's prohibitively expensive for almost anyone at this point, esp the Spurs. So that really only leaves Thomas (too young to make a difference any time soon) and Kapono, who I chose.

I don't get the desire for Andre Miller. The Spurs already have two 30-something point guards on their roster. I don't see the need for a 4th and particularly not for a 4th who: (1) has never seemed willing to accept a backup role; (2) has been a malcontent in several places; (3) has never done much for his teams at playoff time; and (4) who makes prohibitive money.

Don't forget that he can't shoot....

Well that just leaves Mike Miller. If you were drunk enough he could pass for a girl.

The problem with Kapono is that he isn't very good and is overpaid.

We need a rebounding, defensive-minded Center first...second, third.

Ben Wallace ain't on the list, eh?

mikey miller, we sorely need consistent scoring out of the 2 guard spot and finley only gives us brief glimpses of competence.

Philly has been looking to deal Miller for much of the season since they found Louis Williams. They are rebuilding with youth, so it makes sense. There was even talk of him going back to the Nuggets.

I vote for Mike Miller - I think he'd be a perfect fit on the Spurs.

Mike Miller is the only choice.

To fuck or to trade for.

Of the four listed here, I'd vote for Thomas simply because he would give the team another better-than-average shot blocker. At this point, Tim is the only guy on the team who can effectively protect the rim and play solid low post defense. Sure Thomas can't shoot very well, but he's young, quick, athletic and has a definite upside. Meaning he CAN be molded into a Spurs-like player.

I like Mike Miller, but he makes waaay too much money.

ok for one andre miller shouldnt be on the list...most desired has to me mike miller...but thats if u can ship out finley, i know the spurs are a class act..but he got his ring...chunk the deuce! doable has to be kapono, i think raps may take barry if anybody and possibly finley, and if he was on the spurs he would be shooting 55% from 3's lol...and probable has to be tyrus thomas, for what?? i really dont kno..think everybody is overreacting on this guy coming here...but if some how he gets here other than mike miller he will make an impact, i like the combo of oberto and thomas...could throw thomas on dirk a bit during the playoffs, gives us versatility

The Silver Stars could use a slasher who can bomb from distance.

I have separate choices for those who are desirable and for those who is doable.

The desirable one would be Andre miller. The obvious reason is the spurs lack of quality back up for Tony Parker. The team needs a true point guard to lessen the burden of TP. His acquisition would also mean more flexibility for the spurs, since he knows how to play slow ball as compared to Tony's way of play. Unfortunately, a player like him doesn't come cheap. Considering the cap space, I don't think we could acquire a player like him.

As for the doable, I think the spurs could pick Kopono. iIt's doable since his trade value isn't that high. The spurs could free a bench player in exchange for him. He is obviously loss for position in Toronto after the emergence of jamario moon, I think we need another shooter to help TD in the post. He could very well play the role of brent barry. i don't think he's the perfect fit but the spurs can make this deal happen.
