View Full Version : Getting Old Sucks
So, I turned 40 last month, and seeing how I'm now looking downhill and the bottom of the hill is a damn sight closer than I expected, I pulled the trigger and made an appointment for a physical with my primary care doc that I hadn't been to in a number of years (I think it was about 5 years ago when I got a weird allergic reaction whil I was visiting family in CA.).
Well, needless to say the doc visit was a ton of fun and after two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing 'fairly well' for my age.
A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?'
He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine?'
'Oh no,' I replied. 'I'm not doing drugs, either!'
Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?'
I said, 'No, with my cholesterol red meat is very unhealthy!'
'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?'
'No, I don't,' I said.
He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?'
'No,' I said.
He looked at me and said, 'Then, why do you even give a shit?'

:lol That's funny.
I turned 40 in December. I answered 'yes' to almost all of those. Physically I'm the healthiest I've ever been. I don't have a wrinkle. I feel amazing. I'm not sure when 'old' begins to happen but it hasn't started for this white boy.

:lol Either that or the cool 'stache I just grew. More than likely, I think it must be the inspiration I draw from the tatoo of this hot chick in acid washed jeans that I just got the other day.
