The word choke is thrown around far too much these days. Is it when a favorite loses to an underdog, or when a team has a lead during a game and their opponent comes from behind to win? If an 9 seed beats an 8 seed in the NCAA tournament, is that a choke?

Yankees blowing 4 straight has to be bigger than Golden State. Dallas never had control of the Golden State series, and the Warriors were better than a typical 8 seed.

Mavs for sure... it was a 7 game series in the first round against the 8th seed. The Red Sox were really good, and the Giants were on fire having knocked off three division leaders on the road in the playoffs.
The Mavs team in the poll is the Mavs team that was minutes away from a 3-0 series lead in the NBA Finals, not the Mavs from last year. The Finals is a bigger stage, more is on the line, and thus it was a bigger choke.

You dumbshit. He's not even talking about the Mavs in the 1st round. The red sox were really good...I guess the Warriors weren't?
The Pats win this poll easily. They were ready to be crowned the best team of all time.

So you could say the Mavs were just outplayed by Golden State, but that series is still being billed as one of the greatest NBA upsets ever. So I guess that series wasn't an upset, the Warriors just played harder.
Think about all the people that crowned New England before the game was even played. The Patriots organization applied for the patent on "19-0" merchandising rights before they even beat San Diego. This Super Bowl was a choke, because the Patriots abandoned the game plan that got them to the Super Bowl until deep into the fourth quarter when it was too late.

The Warriors weren't really good, sorry.

The Warriors were really good against Dallas just like the Chargers were really good against Indy.

well the patriots didnt play too bad brady had some decent stats, definitely better than mannings. The mavs just played like crap and missed shots and their best player, unlike brady, didnt even show up.

Seriously, nothing beats the 2004 NYY. They were up a run in the bottom of the 9th with the best closer in MLB history on the mound, with a 3-0 lead in the series, and completely collapsed to drop the series.

I agree with this. I just started the poll to see if Mavs hate from Spurs fan and Pats hate from well, everyone, would measure up to common sense.

I would say Mono's choke job not having the balls to take constructive criticism like a real man beats any of the other 3 selections. Talk about a real loyal fan.

I have to agree with this. :) God what a beautiful series that was! Getting revenge like that against the Yanks made all those years of losing to them worth it! Sox have now cursed the Yanks. New York hasnt won a playoff series since the ALCS!

Yeah, I gotta agree with that. Now it's A-Rod that's the "can't win the big one" guy in sports.

Bullshit A-rod is clutch as fuck come playoff time. Don't you remember him slapping the ball out of Bronson Arroyo's glove at 1st base in game 6 of that series? He then bitched about it feeling he got screwed out of that call. :lol :lol

Haha I was at the Chevy dealership during that game filling out the paperwork for my Trail Blazer. The salesman was a NY fan so he kept turning around and looking at the TV on the wall. He saw that call and was like "Oh god damn it!" I lulz'd.

Hahahaha. I bet that had to be an entertaining sight to see. The entire bronx was booing. I was at that game along with being at game 7. My friend(who is a true blooded New Yorker and sadly a die hard Yanks fan since forever) managed to get both of us tickets. Of course I didnt talk shit to their fans after the games. You dont fuck with Yankee fans in their own house. You risk getting your ass kicked.

Weren't they 16-2 the last part of the season when all starters were healthy? Yeah that just sucks.

And the poll asked for opinions. I chose the Mavs vs. the Warriors. But if you'd like me to choose an actual poll question I'd choose Mavs. vs Heat. Does that make your butt hurt less?

How did the cowboys choke?
------
The mavs 06 and yankees were both pretty bad. Yankees didn't have crooked umpires giving free bases for what are clearly strikes.
Pats were outplayed, there is a reason vegas lost so much money because so much was bet on the giants to win.
the 2002 Mariners
A good one, didn't they have something like 116 wins?
