I was at my pool league Tuesday night, only got snippets of the game. Going through withdrawals here...

I hear we won.

Actually, we lost. Tony Parker slapped Pop and forced his way on the court only to sever his leg, Brent Barry arose from the dead to hit some clutch 3s before his calf exploded, and JV was his usual 0-2 1pt. 1 ass. self.

In a surprising response to the humiliating Pacers loss, Spurs traded Tim for Shaq.

:lol

I'd have to become a Heat fan. Ugh.

I think I would too. :lol

I love my Spurs, but I really don't think I could stand to cheer for Shaq.

(And once again, we all secretly laugh at the Phoenix fans)

I'm all for the Spurs, but it's Duncan I follow.
Where he goes, I go. :)

And hell no, I could not cheer for Shaq.

So then when he Tim retires...you stop watching basketball?

That's a real problem for me. :)

I'm an NBA fan for 25+ years, I've always enjoyed the game and always had a few teams and players I adored watching.

Then came Duncan. I think he's spoiled me. :lol

I hope that after he retires I find players that will keep me interested. I do love the game.

But I really don't think I'll ever be as devoted to one player again.

How can anyone ever match the player he is on the court and the man he is off the court?

There will never be another one quite like him.

I could. I know its a little old school but for me, its about the name on the front of the jersey, not the back.

An outdated philosophy to most but something that works for me. :toast

Ultimately, I'm hanging my hat on the hopes that such a thing will never happen.

I like being a Spurs fan.
