Can the Heat flip him or do they have to wait some time before they trade him? He can opt out of contract and Miami might want to get something in return. Him more than anyone would really help this team.

the Heat? they're a lost cause this season. there's no helping them this year.

Dude is currently making 17 mil per season and is looking for an extension. Do you really think the Spurs would be willing or even able to meet his salary demands?

Furthermore, based the way in which he destroyed the team chemistry in PHX, why would the Spurs FO even be interested?

the craziest thing is that Suns could have gotten so much more for Marion. They could have gotten Nocioni and another quality player from Bulls for example.

It's reported that Marion and Stoudamire have been at odds for quite a while. It seems Marion has long been jealous of both Nash and Stoudamire. Somehow, he felt he wasn't getting enough credit for their success and desparately wanted more recognition - including a contract extension at his current rate. All this despite the fact the he was the highest paid player on the team. Go figure.

The fact that Marion was so willing to go from a championship contender to the worst team in the NBA...just so he could finally get his "glory and respect" should tell you something about the kind of player he is and what he's going to be able to do. Marion for all his talent, is a complementary player...not a star.

Marion to me is like Tayshaun Prince from the Pistons. Difference is, Prince doesn't whine and complain like Marion. When the Pistons had the best record a few years back and all 4 starters went to the All Star game and he didn't make it...did you hear any complaint whatsoever from him? Or even when Billups and Sheed and Rip make the All star team since then, Prince never complains. His role on the Pistons is the same exact role Marion had on the Suns...both were playing for championship level teams. See the difference?

AT halftime of last Sunday's nationally-televised game versus the Mavs, they interviewed Prince. When asked where he got his work ethic from, he harked back to his dad - a factory worker of over 30 years. He stated his Dad never missed a day of work. So he felt, if his Dad could commit that type of dedication to his work, he should do the same. Much props and respect to Prince. Marion, on the other hand, is a loser.

He went all Joe Johnson on the Suns.. Whinning and complaining about respect, being the 3rd wheel, mentioned in trade talks, etc. When he was on the court he was a pro, but there have been a lot of discussion this season about the chemistry of this team in the locker room and on the floor. He was the one everyone indirectly pointed to.
