For one of baseball's hallowed grounds, that is Yankee Stadium. Opened in 1923 I believe, this is the final season for it.
In 2009 will be the NEW Yankee stadium, story on it on ESPN reaching a budget of 1.3 BILLION, thats right billion with a B.
Also in 09 will be Citifield, replacing Shea Stadium.
Anything else anyone knows in 08 will be the final season for?

I don't know, but I can't wait for Citifield.

From the pics I've seen, they've done a great job of incorporating some of the nuances and splendor of the Stadium along with modernizing the structure as a whole.
And you'll never see someone else's name associated with it. There's only one White House, Grand Canyon, etc....and there's only one Yankees Stadium.
If I'm not mistaken, the 2008 All Star game will be held at Yankee Stadium for the last time.
Good the Mets...they needed some new digs.

The final season of the House that Ruth built was back in the 70's. The remodeling they did then basically turned it into a whole new place. Nothing historic about it anymore.

I'm sure people using the restrooms would disagree with you...
