Having the best record in conference and the #1 seed in the playoffs makes you a contender. It's just their horrible choking that removed them from contention once the playoffs began.

And I guess the Colt's weren't contenders last year since they hadn't sniffed the super bowl since SB V?

Sounds a lot like the Mavericks.

When you know they are going to find a way to choke, it kind of removes them from being contenders in my mind.
