If it was possible what player in the league that is still playing, that used to play with the Spurs you would take back?

I would take back Hedo Turkoglu I like how his confidence is up with his outside shoot.

It would also be good to see Malik walk back on to the Spurs floor again in white and black, and get a standing ovations and retire the next day a true Spur.

SJax... no question.

Might sound crazy, but I think Melvin Ely would've been that 2nd post defender we might need.

SJax is looking solid, but Hedo, is making the big ones as of late, he is coming around big time.

Read the thread title. Pay particular attention to the word "active".

Jax.

Hedo is probably a better regular season player, but he's a playoff dud.

Does Bell count.

Nah, I'd still take Stephen.

Maybe Antonio Daniels.

There's no other answer to the one posed in this thread.

People have already hit the right nails.

1) Stephen Jackson
2) Hedo Turkoglu
3) Devin Brown
4) Speedy Claxton
5) Malik Rose at yard-sale prices

Claxton was able to maintain Parker's pace of the game, was a quick defender, and hit shots when it counted. If big shots in the Finals aren't important to you, I can't do much about that.

I'm not saying he's the greatest one the league has seen, but the Spurs haven't had a backup as good as him since he left.

Vaughn is like Claxton Lite.

The feel of the game is mostly outside shooting for both teams, if the Spurs can get Damon to slash through for lay-ups it will put a thorn in their side cause it will give them a serious problem to worry about. Damn, sure could use TP for this game.

Of course... who else?

peskypesky
02-10-2008, 03:02 PM
1. Stephen Jackson
2. Nazr Mohammed
3. Malik Rose

Since the West just got bigger real quick, we could use Nazr or Malik. But SJax is clearly the best ex-Spur baller out there. Turkoglu is too soft for the West....

I can believe someone actually advocated bringing back Blocked By Guards.

Nazr is Elson, minus the hops.

Nazr is averaging 10pts, 7.5 rebounds and 1 block in just 24 minutes for Charlotte. That's FAR better than Elson. Plus Nazr is stronger, which we might need against Shaq.

Charlotte doesn't run a motion offense or a rotational defense. Nazr was a horrible fit here, which is why he was let go. He wouldn't be any better on a second run.

Why do people think that numbers on one team will translate to another?

Nazr had 6.2 pts and 5.2 boards in 17 minutes when he last played for the Spurs. Pretty similar.

Scola was Spurs property but was never a Spur.

People, let's try to limit this to someone who was at least on the active 15 man roster for one regular season game. You can't bring back someone who was never here in the first place.

No Scola
No Barbosa

We don't need another wing player...we need a rebounder.
