No kidding but what can you do when Bonner and Elson give you nothing? Oberto was ok and I thought Horry would see more time too.

That was small ball?

I thought that was the Spurs playing their best available players, which mean Oberto, Elson and Bowen can't see extended minutes.

he plays small ball because the Spurs big men is a one man show

Oberto had a couple good game against some garbage east team, SO WHAT? he laid egg against the Celtics and every other decent team

This championship team sucks more than the 2005 team.

I'll take small ball when tall ball with Elson can single-handedly lose games in 6 minutes of action.

T Park, what can we do to increase your cholesterol level to toxic levels?

We don't have any good frontcourt players besides Duncan and that's why Pop tries to force "small ball."

I'm all for small ball when we are facing a 10-point deficit, but after we cut into the deficit, and the Celts manage to stay in the game by picking up every fucking rebound in sight, that's when Pop needs to realize that enough is enough.

Small ball is a short-term tactic, nothing more. You cannot play an entire quarter of small ball and win. The little guys can put in some extra effort and snare some rebounds for 4, 5 maybe 6 minutes tops. And they did that today, and we got to within 2 points. That's when dumbass Pop needs to thank his lucky stars and get a rebounder back in. Horry should have been in there for the last few minutes. Instead we continue to play Duncan + 4 guards and get pounded on the boards.

And this has been the story time and time again. Play small ball, but have the sense to put the big guys in when you're back in the game. Pop never learns.

you know it's beyond pathetic when you're getting outrebounded by a garnett-less celtics team

Just sayin'... 'Dice, Blair, Ratliff, Haislip on the pine, and we've got Finley at the four? WTF?

Well... how many true centers do the spurs have?

I can't even begin to understand how Pop complains about poor reboundig after he trots out the same small ball lineup that sucked donkey balls last season. It's just surreal.
The pathetic shooting didn't help either. Oh well, it's going to be a long season, as usual.

:lol I hope you guys know that this is going to take some time to do, if the Spurs are still struggle to find out who's gonna take the next shot or missed defensive rotations IN MARCH then I'd be worried.

I really thought we wouldn't see small ball anymore with the arrivals of Dice and Blair.

I guess I was wrong

Pop reallllly loves the 3-ball, hence why Finley gets so much time at four. Kinda makes me wish we got Rasheed cause his outside shooting would've made Finley a non-factor.

Has this ever worked? I can't recall a game ever swinging into our favor because of small ball. I guess Pop is playing the odds that it should work at least 1 out 100 tries.

Pop's problem is he's changing his philosophy, I think. He used to go big when everyone went small...make them adapt to our style, and we'd win..for some reason, back in 2008, he changed his mind and decided "hey..maybe we can play small too.." garbage.

this better not be 06 all over again, where we went away from big lineups for small ball bs which costs us against the mavs in the playoffs....
