View Full Version : Honest question to Spurs fans

Before I ask, don't blame all of your losses on Parker.

You still have supposely the best PF in NBA History, Manu Ginobili an All-Star caliber player and a bunch of good role players to support them.

My question is:

Why are you losing and underachieving so much?

You are now 6th in the Conference with the Denver Nuggets right on you tails.

The next three games are crucial to your playoffs hopes and if those games are lossses you are looking at a 7th or 8th seed.

The West is loaded this year and if you are waiting for the so-called "SPAM"

You might be up for a big surprise!

What you did in the past is history, this is a new season my friends.

The Spurs don't need a number 1 seed but certainly one of the top 4 seeds.

No pushovers this year.

Every single round is going to be a dogfight and anything can happen.

This year we could be looking at a 50-win team not making the playoffs and that team could be ANYONE.

I'm not worried about the Spurs missing the playoffs and I don't care as long as they get the 8th seed.

That being said, it will take something special to survive the West.

Spurs are no longer favorites, nor is any other team imo.

SAME THING HAPPENS EVERY YEAR FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. ONLY THIS TIME ITS MORE PRONOUNCED BECAUSE OF INJURIES.

You are now 6th in the Conference with the Denver Nuggets right on you tails.
SO?

The next three games are crucial to your playoffs hopes and if those games are losses you are looking at a 7th or 8th seed.
AND IF THOSE ARE WINS, WHAT SEED WILL THE SPURS BE AT? NEVERTHELESS, MANY SPURS HAVE PREDICTED A LOSING RRT RECORD. ITS WHAT HAPPENS AFTERWARDS THAT MATTER.

The West is loaded this year and if you are waiting for the so-called "SPAM"

You might be up for a big surprise!
ITS A YEARLY TRADITION THAT HAS ALWAYS MANIFESTED ITSELF.

What you did in the past is history, this is a new season my friends.
NEVERTHELESS, LESSONS FROM THE PAST ARE IMPORTANT FOR THE HERE AND NOW. ITS CALLED EXPERIENCE.

The Spurs don't need a number 1 seed but certainly one of the top 4 seeds.
GETTING THE NUMBER 1 WOULD BE NICE. GETTING HOMECOURT ADVANTAGE WOULD BE USEFUL FOR THE FIRST ROUND. BUT NOT ESSENTIAL IN WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP.

No pushovers this year.
SAME THING AS ALWAYS EVERY YEAR OUT WEST.

Every single round is going to be a dogfight and anything can happen.
BUT ONLY NEED TO DEFEAT 3 OPPONENTS TO REACH THE FINALS. SPURS DIDN'T JUST HAVE SHOW UP TO WIN THOSE SERIES LAST YEAR TOO. NUGGETS WERE BIG AND PHYSICAL. SUNS HAD AN AXE TO GRIND. JAZZ WERE YOUNG AND COCKY. TRUE, THIS YEAR ITS ALOT TOUGHER. BUT DON'T EXPECT THE SPURS TO JUST LIE DOWN AND PLAY DEAD. SPURS ARE HERE TO PLAY.

This year we could be looking at a 50-win team not making the playoffs and that team could be ANYONE.
ROCKETS KNOW THAT ALL TOO WELL. YOU OUGHTO WATCH MORE SPURS GAME AND FIGURE OUT WHY SPURS ARE LOSING. IT AIN'T OUT OF LACK OF TALENT OR COHESION OR CHEMISTRY OR OLD AGE OR WHATNOT. ITS POP EXPERIMENTING AND NOT LETTING HIS HAND SHOW AND LETTING HIS GUYS FEEL THE PAIN OF LOSING. HE AIN'T WORRIED ABOUT SEEDING OR WHATEVER IT IS OTHER TEAMS ARE DOING. HE'S HERE TO MAKE THE GUYS RELEARN THE LESSONS OF THE PAST AND HOW MUCH IT STINGS TO LOSE. LIKE ANY GOOD DRILL SERGEANT, HE'S TEACHING HIS BOYS HOW TO MARCH AND FOLLOW ORDERS BEFORE HE SENDS THEM TO WAR.

I don't know why Spurs are supposed to be scared of all these teams? They know everyone is making all these moves because of them. These teams, they are just flavors of the months. They should be scared of the Spurs and realize that when the pressure is on, Spurs will be there fighting harder than ever. It's not going to be a cake walk to beat them. And I mean actually beat them. No .04 bullshit, or anything like that.

And? I've said all along that as long as they make the list, Spurs still have a good shot at the title.

Let's say it gets near the end of the season. Spurs are looking like the 8th seed. Suns are looking like nbr 1.

Will the Suns start dumping games trying to get to nbr2? Or will they pull a Dallas and get knocked out in the first round by the Spurs?

Maybe this is the year we start knocking off the top teams early, by being a lower seed.

Anyway, after the ASG, we'll see how the Spurs look. If Tony gets back to 100 percent, you will see an entirely different offensive team. If he doesn't, well, there is always next year. I suppose 5 in 10 years isn't too terrible.

CAUSE were still human. And the suns is 82-0?? (Totally abnormal) Four titles in seven years is under achieving? what do you call suns' title hopes?

You are now 6th in the Conference with the Denver Nuggets right on you tails.

We don't need to be number one- we just need to be in the playoffs. We're just phasing our players for the playoffs - so we have an easier schedule in the playoffs.

Nash is well aware of questions concerning O'Neal's health.
"There's doubts and a risk to everything," Nash said. "I know that's going to be a favorite talking point for all the media, but for us the talking point is we've got an incredible, huge, talented, charismatic player in our locker room now. ... This sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun."
O'Neal's ability to lift spirits is another plus for a Suns team that seemed joyless despite its success.
"I think the Big Aristotle is going to be fun for us," Nash said. "He has a great personality and he is one of the most exciting, charismatic players we have had in this league in a long time. Hopefully he is as excited to be here as he sounds and as we are and gives everybody a big lift."

Wonder why Nash doesn't say things like "The missing piece of the puzzle"? Could it be because Nash knows Shaq isn't the answer to "get them over the hump"?

We're OK - not great but OK. Also a little banged up with TP and Brent out. Udoka getting more PT and starting to fit in. Will need to get TP and Brent back into the lineup for the final push. Due to those injuries it is difficult to really assess exactly where we are at this time. Once all the pieces are back it will be easier to tell. Not worried but could be if TP isn't up to his game.

Playoffs are a different game - no b2b and plenty of rest. Though this year it will be tougher than previous ones. The West is a beast and it might be that the team that ocmes out of the West is so beat up that the East takes the trophy. Will see.

Though past results aren't indicative of future ones the Spurs are in position for another playoff run and I wouldn't bet against them.

I guarantee you a 50 win team won't make it in the West. But look at the East. New Jersey is number 8 with a 22-29 record while Houston, who is currently out of the playoffs, would be number 4 in the East.

We are losing and underachieving so much, because:

1. Older

4. No personnel upgrades

I don't even think it's that. It's just very tight, the Spurs have had injuries, and they've lost a few games.

As long as we're in the playoffs, I like our chances, but we all know it's a Even year, so the East is due to win anyway.
