Dear Pop,
It's well known that you are a defensive-minded coach, to the point that if a player makes a mistake on defense, you will call a time-out & pull him away from the game.
On the other hand, players are awarded playing time by playing hard-nosed defense.
My suggestion is that would you & your coaching staff have some sort of rules regarding these awards & punishments, e.g. what kind of defensive mistake will lead to how much suspension of playing time.
I know it is difficult to be entirely objective, but will this system makes it more fair & less frustrating for players, who always want playing time, & also players will have less unnecessary psychological burden. Besides, I'm not asking for a change in the coaching philosophy of the team.
