Yeah his plan was set to fail in the very begining.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Bowen impersonate his Coach and called the Cal State Fullerton coach to have a look at him and he did, it worked out for Bowen out at the end.

That's brutal. Come on; he's a high-school kid trying to live up to unrealistic expectations of himself and everyone around him. Not that it wasn't stupid, but at that age people do really dumb things. I can imagine for the last year or two everywhere he went and everyone he talked to he'd get asked over an over who was recruiting him. It's gotta be embarrassing to tell all these people who look up to you that no division-1 school gave a shit.

I feel sorry for this kid.

What's sad is that at 6'5" and 290 there are probably some smaller D1 schools that would have given him a shot. I don't get the impression he did enough to get his name out to the lesser known schools with perhaps smaller recruiting budgets. They may not have been Pac10 schools, but at least he could have put a D1 hat on at his news conference for a school that he was actually going to attend.

With all this publicity I wouldn't be surprised to see some school give him a chance.

This is the most insane thing i've ever seen. If your not good enough your not good enough. Face the facts and how did he exactly think all this would end? Everybody was going to find out he was a fraud at some point. I guess the pressure just got to him but damn.

Isn't Jerry Glanville (Portland State, FCS) wanting to take a look at him? Maybe the pub will pay off.
