View Full Version : Gasol fitting in like a glove with the Lakers

5 games in and Gasol has put up some impressive numbers already.

24/12 against NJ
30/9 against ORL
26/6/6 against CHA

With all the attention that Kobe attracts Gasol is pretty much able to operate with single coverage. His weaknesses are very apparent however. Defensively he is soft and his rebounding is not that impressive. Thankfully Bynum's strengths are his rebounding, shotblocking, and presence in the paint.

The Lakers (assuming Bynum is healthy) will be a TOUGH out for the Spurs ... yall should of kept Scola!!

Scola blows. He would have not helped the Spurs in any way, shape, or form.

That Gasol pic is great.
Fitting IN like a glove? Is that a Reggie Miller quote?

Better than Dirk and Manu's many photos. Add Nash to that as well.

Bynum may be done for the season...Mihm is definitely done…

I realized that Pau was going to be a great fit for the Lakers when I heard Popovich & Cuban whine about the trade… :dramaquee

Bynum ain't done for the season. He's still right on schedule. He'll be back for playoffs. Yeah Mihm is done though. Not like anyone thought he was coming back.

I believe that George Gervin is now just below Kobe Bryant on the list of all time NBA scoring leaders (http://www.nba.com/statistics/default_all_time_leaders/AllTimeLeadersPTSQuery.html?topic=4&stat=1)…Congratulations to Gervin for being mentioned in such an elite group such as Kobe Bryant, Jerry West and Kareem…

Last night, did Stu Lanz say that Ariza is out for the remainder of the season & that Bynum was coming along very slowly…Stu should really check with all the experts on this forum before he speaks out of turn… :dramaquee

The Lakers aren't that good. Utah, Phoenix, and Dallas are weaker, making the Lakers look stronger but the Lakers really are the same as last year.

Its becoming more and more likely that Bynum won't be coming back this season. "Two months" was suppose to be today IIRC. And he isn't even running on a treadmill yet?

The Lakers are sporting the softest front court in the west. Hard to see them getting very far.

As much as I dislike the Lakers, I've always been a big Gasol fan. That picture makes me like him even more. :lol

First of all the Laker organization has always stated it would take a MINIMUM of 8 weeks. They haven't lied to anyone about his rehab process. He will be running on the treadmill this week, hopefully the Lakers will have him back by early April. Without him we are not going to get out of the WC.

Gino- Forget what is reported by the infidels in the news…These people have no morals… They have no shame about lying…Believe only what Lakers fans post…Bynum is ahead of schedule! …Ariza is scrimmaging…The Lakers will sweep the Celtics…Power through the Pistons…Whenever we attack, teams retreat…. When we pound them with Pau and Kobe, they retreat even deeper…'We have destroyed the Kings morale as well as 2 of their water coolers, many tennis shoes, and their cow bells…

DazedAndConfused, do you really expect him back by the end of the season?

Whats the best and worst case scenario here?

All reports are that he'll be back early April if all goes well.

Ok, but thats the BEST CASE, right?

So what youre saying is the best case is that a guy who isn't even running on a treadmill yet will be able to play basketball at an NBA level/pace in a month?

Whats the WORST CASE?

if only gasoft could play defense, his softness is not helping odom or radmanovic or fisher get any harder...i did take bonner over gasoft to park in the paint.

Unlike the Mavs, Spurs, Celtics, and Suns our championship window ain't closing anytime soon. So we can afford to let Bynum sit out as long as possible to ensure he comes back 100%. Of course the worst case possibility is that he doesn't return this season, but honestly I'm not worried too much about it.

Us winning it all this year would be a bonus in my mind. If we can get deep in the playoffs and get good experience for the youngins I'll be happy. Considering we all thought Kobe would be traded in the offseason, it's a miracle what has transpired thus far.
