Ethics question:

A buddy of mine in Colorado just got engaged to his long time girlfriend, both of whom I've known for about ten years since we were in high school. They have just asked me to perform the wedding and want it to be legit.

I told them they could get married by a JP then I could just sort of do the symbolic stuff. Much to my dissapointment, they said no.

They actually want me to become ordained (which is surprisingly easy) and marry them. I'm a decent Catholic, meaning I go to church, pretend to really care, and donate some time and money, but nothing special.

Is it wrong to be ordained?

I honestly have no clue on this one.

There is no such thing as a decent Catholic.

If you feel inside of you its wrong, maybe it is. Just my two cents.

It seems rather odd.

I once new a guy that sold funeral things or something and went online to become ordained. His logic was, "who's gonna say no to a minister"?

Now that's wrong for sure.........I think.
