Tim is a legit 6'11 but what gives him an edge is the length of his arms. They are longer than most guys who have an inch or two on him so he actually has the advantage.

There have always been questions about Duncan's height.
He was listed as 7' when he joined the Spurs so they could play up the "twin towers" thing.

After Robinson retired Duncan asked to be listed at 6'11, which is supposedly his true height.

I've read that he could be closer to 6'10.

As has already been mentioned, he does slouch. And his wingspan is incredible, giving him the extra reach on rebounding.

I've gone through his height argument on ST before, and posted links to the articles backing up what I've just said.
I don't feel well enough to dig it all up again now.
Believe me or search for it or wait until I can post it all again.

But he's 6'11 at best, possibly a tad under.

Dirk is definitely a ltitle taller than Duncan. Duncan is more like 6'10 but with freakish long arms so his reach is the same as Dirk's. No question about Yao, that dude is big.

Take a look through the gallery - most of those pictures just look silly! They'd be fine if the guys were either dressed up OR dressed in athletic gear holding basketballs, but they just look ridiculous in nice clothes holding basketballs.

I am not convinced about the accuracy of this article. Both MJ and Manu are listed as 6'4 which is ridicules. Shaq is listed only as 7'0

I call bs on Dirk being 6-10 I remember looking at him in an all-star game past and guessing through comparisons with KG, TD, Shaq etc. he is prolly about 7-1 and my brother whose a mavs fan agrees.

Not exactly rock solid evidence but take it for what it's worth.

Duncan would be a legit 6-11 in shoes I think.

I wonder where they got all those information. And the way they compared using pictures isn't very convincing because sometimes a player looks shorter or taller than he really is just because of the angle the picture is taken.

dirk is not 6'10. i met dirk, peja and divac (they were together) at the nba all star game in dc in 2001 and dirk was as tall as vlade. dirk is a legit 7 footer. and peja is a legit 6'10...i was suprised he was so tall. i'm 6'3 and they all made me feel tiny.

As an European he could dress better, but again Germans are not known for style really.

Duncan was measured 6'11.5" at the 1997 pre-draft camp but that must be in shoes because I also heard he measured 6'10.5" which sounds more accurate.


Duncan was listed at 6 feet 10 inches his senior year at Wake Forest. When we

I've heard Dirk is 6'10" but he looks taller than that to be honest. I heard in Europe they list players barefoot and Dirk was listed 212 cm meaning he would be 6'11.5" barefoot. If you want to see Duncan look really short look at him next to 7'1" barefoot Shaq who is 7'2.75" in shoes.
