Serge Angounou

Who is this and why did the Toros sign him?

It says they also signed Kenton Paulino, a 6'1 point guard I assume.

Good to see Mahinmi playing. His injury wasn't a big one.

Mahinmi has quick hands. Hadn't seen him in a while. His movement is more fluid than what I remember in the past.

I can't wait to see Rod Benson's blog entry about missing that dunk.

Only saw the second half but I was impressed with Mahinmi's game. Definitely wouldn't want to trade him.

They have only had an All-Star Game once before. Pops Mensah-Bonsu was MVP last season.

Previous NBDL All Stars link or list?

I'm trying to find some reference points to NBDL to NBA, realizing whats happened in the past does not neccessarily translate into what is going on today with NBDL.

There is actually an article about last year's All-Stars on Draft Express:

good article Chump.
But none are dazzling the NBA.
How about past All League players? 2000 onward. Any hit it big or semi big in the NBA?

I'm trying to sell the Kings on Manhinmi or Splitter with Barry Elson for Artest.
So far they're pooh poohing NBDL All Starts, think Denver is gonna give up some combo that must include Kleiza. Now that Artests buddy Marshmello Anthony is involved in discussions. :elephant

Good luck with that.

The poster boys for the D-League are Chris Andersen, Kelenna Azubuike, Matt Barnes, Devin Brown, Matt Carroll, Jamario Moon, Mikki Moore and Bobby Simmons.

Now none of them were rookie send-downs like Ian, That's more of an Amir Johnson situation.

I don't think Splitter is going to spend any time in Austin.

Why the hell would you trade Splitter?

Sometimes you have to give up a lot in message board trade negotiations.

I don't know if Ian is ready to play in the NBA in the Spurs sytem right now, but the guy has some serious athletic ability that this team currently lacks. His 4 points in yesterdays game came on an awesome alley oop dunk and a quick baby hook jumper. He was very active on the glass and I liked that. He still doesn't have the power to bang inside but his quickness and jumping ability make him a decent rebounder right now. When he boxes out he gets the rebound with ease. Ian has the potential to be a very nice player for the Spurs. Also, anyone see the two blocks Ian made? Wow that first one was impressive and with his leaping ability he can be a threat in front of the rim.

I dont think he is ready to be next to Duncan yet, but, even if he was starting right now for the Spurs he could be a threat on the weakside blocks and patrolling the basket.

Pros:

Size/Athleticism
Quick/Active under basket
Can go up and get the ball

Cons:

Little on offense
Can't hold own on the block

I think him and Splitter next year would make a great combo at center. But, he won't be ready for big minutes until late in the year next year probably.
