I hope Tim has a better second half. He just hasn't been himself lately. He's shooting a very low percentage and he's not taking a lot of shots. He's being guarded by a rookie (Harrison) and Foster. He should be taking these guys to school. Granted he's drawn fouls on these guys but his shots just aren't going down.

"I hope Tim has a better second half"

Tim is stoppable with good defense, and teams know if they stop Tim, the game is half won. Pacers aren't allowing the entry pass. Our ball movement has to improve. If Ind keeps shooting 54% and keeps up their D, the game is theirs.

I bet you $10 bucks the team that has the highest FG% wins.

Spurs D is failing to stop their offense, and that nearly always means a Spurs loss, esp in the teeth of a fairly serious Pacer defense.

Solid D
01-06-2005, 11:10 PM
I don't see the Pacers shooting over 50% in second half. Spurs will step up their D.

The Spurs went with Parker and Udrih together in the backcourt the last 2:45 of the half and the Spurs went from a 1 point lead to 9 in nothing flat. Indy was able to close at end to within 6.

Though it was close during parts of the game, you just knew the Spurs had this one in the bag during just about the whole 4th. Once we got the lead back to 10, it was basically trading baskets, game over.

Exciting to watch, the spurs attack the basket without mercy! I am very happy to see that, rather than trying to jumpshoot over the zone opponents keep confounding us with.

Even when we won 62, we were not as offensively diverse as this team. We do have a great chance at a 60+ season If we stay healthy.

the rest of the league is going to truely fear us in the post season; our scoring differential is about the same as the 72 win bulls and the Kobe/shaq lakers during their steamrolling year.

The FT differential and 3-pt shooting was the difference. Otherwise, the buckets were dead-even. The Spurs held the Pacers to slightly under 50% in the 2nd half but they still matched the Spurs with .507 from the floor.

Pacers played great. They scored a lot off of iso's or one-on-one play. Their second unit scored off good passing. Hats off to them, and particularly to JO, Tinsley, Foster and Jones (from the perimeter).

I bet you $10 bucks the team that has the highest FG% wins.

Indiana .507 37/73
Spurs .507 37/73

Should he win or should he lose?
:rolleyes

"highest FG%"

My $10 bet is invalid on a technicality, a grammar mistake! :)

Seriously, had Pacers shot the _higher_ FG%age, I would have paid up, but nobody took me up on it, nor was there a "higher" FG%age, anway.

This was really looking weird early on, with Pacers shooting almost 60% and behind to Spurs with under 50%, like a rare game that would be the exception to the rule that higher FG%age wins.

Spurs were damn lucky to get a win. It was a very evenly played game, because both teams played the game well on both ends of the court, plus the coaching.

The same night we are @PHX in 2 weeks, IND will be @MIA for their first game of 4.

OK boutons, let's make a deal. You give 10 bucks for the victims of the tsunami. I think this would be fair. Anyone agrees?

"highest FG%"

My $10 bet is invalid on a technicality, a grammar mistake! :)Technically both the Spurs and Pacers had the highest and lowest FG% since they were the same %.
