Instead of trading Elson, I elect we send Elson into Brain Surgry following the All-Star break.

I just hate to see a player who's abilities would fit perfectly with our team.
It makes me wanna pull my hair out.
Have they brought in a big-man (specialist) i.e. David Robinson, to teach Elson some of the basic fundmentals of the game?

Maybe they should duct tape a dictionary to his forehead, leave it on for a week and see if his IQ goes up.

Really, if Elson stays, do you guys have any ideas how he could raise that bball IQ during the latter half of the season.
I'd feel terrible wasting all that talent, just cause the guy didn't know how to use it properly. Let's help Cisco out.

I don't see us trading just[B] Elson for a player worthy enough to crack a 10 man or 8 man rotation. Therefore I'd keep him even if hes dumb. His 6 fouls could be useful.

If I could, I would package Elson and (Barry, Bonner, etc) for Kurt Thomas.

The guy hustles, rebounds, plays defense, and can stretch the floor with his jump shot.

Plus, he has the insides on what Phoenix likes to do, and can help on Gasol.

But most importantly, we need a big man in here fast....we are going to get killed on the boards in the playoffs....Gasol & Bynum....Amare & Shaq.

Would look for ways to build his confidence and get him to stop pressing as in relax and pace himself.

With the confidence part i would get Manu and Elson playing some two-man game . There was some success before where Elson got some easy points. With all the attention Manu getting now , those point should come even easier.

The pressing part is more difficult . The guy has become a fouling machine and Pop just doesn't give him the mins to let the game come to him.

I'm not sure. Timmy is healthy and I expect for the Oberto's playoffs/big games. Nobody trusted in the guy last year. He was better than we expected. Against Amare, Boozer and Gooden he didn't disappoint.

As far as I'm concerned if Elson leaves,we need more a player like Ron Artest. D/O at the same time. and smallballs. That's just like Pop. :lol

Tony/JV/Damon
Manu/Mike/Brent
Bruce/Ime
Ron/Robert/Bonner
Duncan/Oberto/Ian

we're gonna have to deal with what we have, face it.
Get ready to see a 7 men rotation in close games.
Tony,Manu,Timmy,Bruce,Oberto,Finley,Horry(Barry if healthy)

We're gonna regret this past offseason,Believe it.

He wasn't even close last year to the level of studpidity he been able to reach the court this year. It's like he's got the Dog House Syndrome.

However, the past couple of games, when the team would head to the locker room, I have seen Timmy offering him a few encouraging words. Let's see if that does anything.

I've been saying it for at least a year - it will also help to keep Duncan's career going longer which is my #1 reason to get another good post player ASAP.

The guy is what he is--a good athlete with size and speed who started playing basketball too late in life to really compete at the top end of the NBA.

He's probably lucky to have survived on anyone's roster for these years, but coaches always think they can develop a player with those good attributes into a play.

If someone would just work him back into the rotation and allow him to make the occasional mistake without immediately benching him as punishment they might be surprised how he might progress. I said this for like three years about a certain starting point guard for the Kings and was roundly criticized for it, though. Michael Finley's defense hasn't improved much in the last two seasons and he doesn't get benched for his mistakes. Maybe someone should teach Elson to jack up threes.

Drinking Manu's blood would be less traumatic, isn't it? :jekka
