For Caron Butler? Why in the world would the Wiz trade their All Star player for a...well not so ALL Star player?

Butler is one of the most underrated players in the NBA. I am a huge fan of his game. Odom is one of the most overrated players in the NBA. I really am not a huge fan of his game. If it goes down, the Lakers are getting even more scarier.

Yea, I like Caron Butler. I'd trade anyone outside of our Big 3 for him at this point (including Bowen :oops).

You mean the Laker's would actually have to give up an actual, bona fide, player in a trade?

I can't believe that.

I figure Washington would trade Butler for a 2013 3rd rounder, at least to the Lakers.

:lol no way is this true. Butler is worth more than any player the Lakers would offer.

That's the one thing the Lakers could really use... a 3 who can shoot and stretch the D with some 3s.

If it was possible: Bynum for Butler, would you do it as a laker fan?

Wow. I don't know about that one. Bowen is very important to the Spurs right now.

Idiot laker fans come back out after landing Gasol...Do you all not look at contracts before you pitch these trade ideas? If any other guys are traded Bynum is going to leave because you wont have enough under the cap to sign him to the contract he will want. Ive read laker fans talk about Jkidd and now Butler....what a joke, Suns are still going to send you guys packing

Lakers already had Caron Butler, were stupid enough to trade him for Kwame Brown. Washington ain't giving him back.

Kwame Brown... the guy has been traded for Butler and Pau Gasol already. Amazing.

Los Angeles not done dealing

The Lakers may not be done tinkering with their roster. The word is they don't believe Lamar Odom can be that ultimate small forward to defend the wing and shoot from distance along the front line when Andrew Bynum returns. The Lakers are said to be looking hard for a more traditional small forward with shooting range. Perhaps the Wizards' Caron Butler, who was injured and couldn't play in Sunday's All-Star Game.

Did you notice the word "perhaps"? Wake up. You already had Gasol from your "blockbuster" trade.

Wizards won't give-in easily like the Grizzlies.

Am I the only one that thinks the NBA is behind some of this Lakers rebuild?
Next thing we know it's going to be Caron Butler for Luke Walton and a box of cookies...

The NBA (David Stern) wants a Celtics vs Lakers Finals matchup

Hey, I never said that this trade is even feasible, and I'm still undecided as to whether or not this would be a good trade for my team (losing Odom's rebounding).

But it is an interesting rumor, and I wanted to share this article with the rest of you for analysis.

It's hilarious that Laker nation thinks they pull one robbery, and that means they can do it weekly.

remember that the wiz are thinking about letting agent zero walk this offseason. they're going to build around butler. i doubt they would move him for any laker not named kobe (and that includes bynum).

If this trade happened, it would match them up worse against the Spurs better against other teams.

You know the Lakers are back when the haters come out in full force over a silly hypothetical trade thread.

The rest of the league, especially the WC, is in full on panic mode.

I would not do this trade if I were LA. Odom is valueable on the Lakers moreso than Butler in LA. Odom is 6-10 SF with long wing span who can hit the three, pass, and rebound. Butler was once on the Lakers and it was seen that he was very unproductive alongside Kobe. Butler basically plays Kobe's postion and having him with Kobe doesn't allow him to play to his true potential. Bad trade for LA. :td

Butler is a better player now then when he was with the Lakers. Players are not stagnet and can either improve or get worse. Butler has turned into a bona fide star.
