The combined cost of an iPod+Cell Phone+Cable doesn't come anywhere close to equalling the bill for a single ER visit, much less radiology, surgery, hospital stay, IVs, drugs, shitty hospital food...

but people will not even pay for premiums offered to them buy the compaines they work for because they don't want to pay..........they can use that to buy a cell phone though, and they will given the choice opt for cable TV......and everyone here knows it.

Cam we really count people that work at companies that offer medical insurance as "poverty stricken"?

i think we can guess who in this thread has never been "poverty-stricken" in their entire life
Poverty-stricken. Has a nice ring to it. Like you know they
are on the verge of death or something.
I have never been poverty-stricken, but I have damn well
been poorer than dirt and broke like many others.
And I happen to agree with inconvertable. This is the only
nation on earth where the "poor", poverty-stricken people
have a color TV in every room, cable TV, 90 buck
tennis shoes and drive a car. And consider it a
career move if they can get the next generation on the
welfare rolls. Hell, we have a whole government
agencies built on the backs of the poor, Federal, State,
city and country, plus how many civilian groups getting grants to help the poor. Oh, lets not forget, the
dimms keep promising more and reaping the votes
from these folks. Obama, the quick change artist, or
as I like to refer to him the candyman, is going to
build bigger and better programs and he calls it change.
The combined cost of an iPod+Cell Phone+Cable doesn't come anywhere close to equalling the bill for a single ER visit, much less radiology, surgery, hospital stay, IVs, drugs, shitty hospital food...People without Health INSURANCE get all of those things; they just have trouble paying for them.
The combined cost of iPod+Cell Phone+Cable CAN go quite a ways toward the purchase of at least a major-medical insurance policy (especially for a young person).
i think we can guess who in this thread has never been "poverty-stricken" in their entire lifeI doubt you can.
