Looking at the standings, Utah is in 4th, and San Antonio is in 5th.

But SA has the better record.

If the playoffs were to start today, which team would have home court advantage? Utah, or SA?

Going further, and looking at the standings, the western conference is amazing. A mere 5 or 6 games in the standings seperate 1st place from 9th place! You have Golden State, who is at 33 and 22 (I believe), and they are looking from the outside going in as far as playoffs standings are concerned. If Golden State were in the Eastern Conference, they would be in 3rd or 4th place!!

The way that I'm looking at it, the 'playoffs' have already started for the western conference. Any team can't afford to go on a bad losing streak, or they might find themselves out of the playoffs picture altogether.

This might truly be an amazing season.

Discuss.

If playoffs ended now, who gets HCA? If the playoffs ended now, there wouldn't be any more games.

If the playoffs started today...

New Orleans vs. Denver
Phoenix vs. Houston
Dallas vs. LA Lakers
San Antonio vs. Utah

Personally, I'd rather see the following...

Phoenix vs. Denver
Houston vs. San Antonio
LA Lakers vs. Utah
Dallas vs. New Orleans

That's a much more interesting first round, imo.
