You never want it too ridiculously tight to the point where you can't even penetrate the lower seed. Especially if you are a bigger team who has a long history of reaching the top 2.
It's fun going from 5th to 2nd in one day though.

Spurs have a chance to really make a surge with upcoming games versus ATL, DAL, MIL, NJ (twice - home & away), IND, DEN, PHX, DEN, NO. With a current 5-game winning streak and if they continue to develop and play well, there's no reason they cannot reel off another 7 or 8 in a row. In doing so, they could move to the top of the conference.

Spurs have won the title twice as #1 seed and twice without it. They also went down in flames in 2001 and 2006 as the #1 seed. I don't really care about it. I just want them to be playing good ball at the end and going into the playoffs. Any of the top 3 positions will be fine.
