I think he is a little upset about brother Brent getting traded.

Is Jon 'in' on keeping Brent's intentions as muddled up as possible?

he also said Brent Barry feels Brent Barry is indebted to Spurs, where he won a couple titles, had a lot years there.

I will never understand this notion that fans expect players to feel indebted to the team whereas the team is not expected to be indebted to the player. If it is just business, it is from both sides- ownership and players.

Clarification: He gave their trade a C.

I will never understand why people misread things. Jon Barry said Brent felt indebted. No one made that up. I'm sure he talks to Brent. Do you?

It is, if you're watching the game. Some of CoM may send him death threats, though, if they're not watching. :spin

Fans here have expressed the idea that somehow Barry owes something to the Spurs and should therefore come back no matter what is best for him.

I give the trade a B+. You sacrificed some outside shooting, but made it a lot harder to score in the paint.

You quoted a fan quoting his brother.

Fans here have expressed the idea that somehow Barry owes something to the Spurs and should therefore come back no matter what is best for him.And we have some stupid fans. I will never understand why some people don't realize that one small cross section of fans doesn't speak for the rest of us. Example: Some fans will say Rasho didn't suck. The rest of us who are level headed know the truth. That Barry doesn't owe the Spurs anything and that Rasho did indeed suck.

have a nice day!

Yup, he doesn't owe the Spurs anything, but I have a feeling he'll be back anyway. He knows the system and he loves the guys, you can tell.

At this point in his career, someone would have to offer him something like a 3yr/15mil contract to lure him away I think.

brent can do what he wants
I think if he wants shot at title and playing time
sa and boston should be his only choices

if he wants to move his family during the school year or be away from his family tell after june then he can go to boston

Hey, he can come to Houston and he wouldn't have to change a thing. :p:

Jon Barry gives Spurs a C

I have an important question...

Who cares?

Jon Barry's grade is meaningless.

smahmood26
02-25-2008, 01:38 AM
No question it dosen't mean anything. I just thought, being that he's kinda related to Brent, it was funny to hear him pretty much say the Spurs were wrong.

Despite the fact Barry is no longer with the spurs and he provided 3s and ball movement, the trade had to happen anyway, the spurs were really weak at the paint and this solves it. There was a NECESSITY - period. And also the spurs don't need so many people on the 2/3 position. They were loaded already there and lacking somebody at the 5.

I give this trade an A

(it would be A++ in my book without the first rounder though)
