STFU! Which one is more important? a better draft pick or better playoff positions for all of us non-spurs fans?

Nope, I think the Mavs scored 2 against the Lakers in either 96 or 97

Can't wait to hear the spin on this one. When the Lakers scored 73 at the half against that same team. It was Plenty of it was just the hawks, blah, blah,

they score 5 in the first quarter, and yet still empty the bench in the fourth. this team is a juggernaut. who's competing with that? the soft-ass lakers? the dallas pussys?

Yet we won by 15. This team is playing some serious defense right now.
Bring on the Mavs!

But first.... FIVE!!!!

You mean we don't qualify for the TV ratings championship?
What's the point of scoring 35 in a quarter if you give up 40?

We sucked offensively almost all of the first half. But our defense kept us in the game until TP got hot.
3 weeks ago this team would have mailed it in. It's great to see we're back winning with defense. Kurt Thomas looked good out there in limited minutes, and this win is twice as sweet since NO lost so we're atop the Southwest.

But first.... FIVE!!!!

Phoenix scores 5 points in a quarter, they would be playing Atlanta's bench by halftime.

Oh and we still won. Only the Spurs can score 5 points in a quarter and blow that same game wide open at the end. I love this team.

Spurs play for 3 quarters and still win. We gave Atlanta a 12 minute head-start to be good sports.

1 FG? Tony, Manu and Duncan must have been out...., oh wait

because individual players never go cold.......

this happened to be one of those games that happens once every few years where every player went ice cold for a long stretch. just a matter of statistics really. the fact that we scored 5 in the first and still won via blowout should have other teams shitting themselves. our mettle>yours. deal with it.

Nuggets managed only 3 against SA in 2002.

But the best was the opening quarter of the Kings/Lakers game in '87. The Lakers rolled out to a 29-0 lead and finished the 1st Quarter up 40-4.

The Spurs swept the season series against the Hawks.

Did the Lakers sweep?

This thread is as cool as this fat bitch that came into work last night while I was browsing ST and when she saw I was looking at a Spurs site, promptly started off with some "SPURS HAHA? GO MAVS BABY, I KNOW WE LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND BUT WE'RE GONNA WIN IT ALL!"

Just like that. Almost. I don't really remember. The whole time I was contemplating laying some ring smack on her but I decided ignoring was best. Stupid people like that always popping up at my work. "So are you a Colts fan?" is popular too when I wear my Manning jersey to work. One girl had the wit to say "So, let me guess, your favorite QB is Tom Brady?" once. Props for putting some thought into your smack, Miss.

Don't get so testy! I said nothing about the game, a win is a win.,,,,,But If that would have been any other team in the league I would probably say that their offense must really suck to only score 1 fg in a period. I mean, of course Super Manu, Tonie and Timmie were just having a bad shooting day but it's hard to imagine a team (not the spurs) with a big three, inside out game and penetrating guard could miss 16 out of 17 shots at home against a team that the Lakers scored 73 points against just the other day in the first half.

I wonder was that the lowest point total for a period in the NBA this season? Doesn't mean anything because it's the Spurs we're talking about but I'm just curious.

The Lakers of 87 was arguably the best team ever assembled in the NBA. They smoked the competition and I think they +20 point diff. for the entire season. I don't know why I can't remember that game but their were several games like that. The one that stands out for me is the 26-0 run on GS. I have that game on tape. Awesome display of offense.
