I know this will be tough not knowing the models of the tv, receiver, etc but I'll ask anyways.

xbox 360 works fine in the tv in my room.
Go to hook up the xbox on the tv in the living room and no bueno.
DirectTV works on the living room tv. DVD player does not, Xbox does not.
I've tried running the component cables through the inputs on the receiver that work with the directTV box, still doesnt work. Get sound though. I've tried every input/output.

Any thoughts?

is tv in your bedroom an hdtv? is the living room one? my guess is you have to flip the little switch on you 360 cable hd/standard switch. see if that works for you.

Yeah, it could be just the HD switch on the AV cable if you've already tried to connect the XBOX directly to the TV.

What confuses me is that a dvd player wont work either.

Your jacks might be jacked, time to get a new tv. Or actually get an audio video switch that has component they are out there i have one, then use component out into the one part of the tv that is working for the directv, or if its not component use whatever is working with the dicrectv, use that as your output from the switch and just switch back and forth as needed between dvd, 360 and directv. also make sure your tuner is set to the right input if all of this fails ditch that piece of shit and buy a new one they are getting so cheap these days. If you are a broke bitch use J.T.'s advice and

1. Load gun
2. Aim at head
3. Pull trigger

I think I'll just have to call upon the Geek Squad to come check it out. This really sucks cause I want to play Turok on the 62" with Klipsch surround and two 15" subs instead of the 42".

Is the TV part of some electronic black-op?

If you don't give the specs, most here won't be able to help you.

Some XBOXs have been known to lose video, but if you're DVD player isn't working either, it's probably your TV.

Is your X360 set on 1080p on a non-1080p TV?I doubt it cause it works fine on the tv in my room and that is only 720. I'll check this anyways though, is that a general setting I can change on the xbox?

Maybe not. If you set the X360 to 1080p and put it on a tv that can't handle it, you get a black screen and can only reset it via going back to a 1080p TV and changing the resolution to something like 720p or 1080i in the dashboard.

Don't know there. Maybe it had a bug like the X360's 1080p setting one also?

It's the TV. It only has one HD input and from what I can gather, only supports 480i/480p/1080i.

Make sure you have your inputs set up correctly.

Menu>Settings>Input Assignments

DTV should be set to YPbPr, not RGB.

Other than that, buy a new TV.

No karma points?

And baseline was right as well, just thinking a different resolution.
